Which notification? I got several emails about games on sale, but no notification about a change in my personal settings. They "announce" such a change in a forum thread which is not sticky, not even marked as an official thread, which you have to search for after you have detected the change in your settings? You hardly can call that a notification.

Changing the default setting for new users might be a good idea. It of course is the easiest way for GOG to fight the problem. But changing personal settings for existing users without any notification just perfectly fits into the latest series of "good news" on GOG...

Now we're going to be spammed with friend requests instead...
thats easy to solve, GOG web developers/programmers should do some tinkering work on google recaptcha (API), like when someone try to friend request you, they should input some google recaptcha along with it. that would prevent spam bots friend request abuse. right!

Sure, we need more of this Google tracking, on every single click we do on every web page. I rather take the "burden" to decline a friend request or delete some spam from my chat than having to answer these annoying captchas everywhere.

what i feel whats worse then this i didn't even know there was a change till today when zeogold told me through the discord a few months ago discord had a problem where people where pm other people with child porn so most people actually turned off there pm unless there friends there

Before anyone says anything, I have never done that. :P

On a serious note, I do know some people in here that PM stuff like that, but I don't feel like starting a war by naming names, and besides, it's not my job.
