Hi all,

I reside in the US and has always been using USD for the currency, no problem. I don't know since when (probably 1 weeks ago?), the website started showing me game prices in different currency (I believe RUB for Rubles?) and I cannot change it.

I went to the user setting/profile, or tried to change it on the bottom of the site, but it's not letting me change the setting and stuck on RUB. I tried changing the Locale to see if it will let me change the currency, but no luck so far.

Anyone have any idea on how to change the currency? I believe I purchased 'Project Highrise' a week ago and since then this started happening. Not sure if I can purchase anything now.
Start saving in Russian Rubles.

Try logging out, clearing your cookies and temp files and log back in.

Do you have a FOREX account?
The currency dropdown switcher is in the bottom-right of the store pages (main, store, any gamecard).

However, you aren't supposed to be able to pick Russian roubles at all -- this option is only available in Russia. (Also, they -- we -- have stupidly low regional prices, so there's that. Check an online currency converter, or try switching to USD and look at the prices, or try going to checkout and see what it says about your location in the fine print.)

Technically speaking, you probably can, your bank (or paypal) will just charge currency conversion.
Legally speaking, if it says at checkout "you confirm that you are currently in Russian Federation" and you aren't, you cannot, because (legally speaking) you aren't getting a valid license as a result of such payment, even if it goes through.

Meanwhile:
Change your GOG password though, and consider enabling 2-step just in case. Your account might have been hacked and sold to a clueless stooge who didn't bother changing the password.

Do you have more then ONE tab opened (GOG-wise). I recently just for fun changed the language and it did change the language of the other tab as well. Same might go for currency. If you have like two tabs opened, you would need to change both, or close both and just open one. No, just closing the browser and re-opening doesn't help, it is stored in a cookie as well ;)

I tried all the steps here, except obviously investing in Russian rubles. No luck so far. I tried logging back out and in, changing password and email, clearing caches for my web browser, using different one after changing my credentials, and it still defaults to RUB upon logging in. What's weird is that when I'm not logged in, all the game prices are in USD...

I dont have FOREX account, and last time I purchased the game was with my credit card (US credit card).

Try logging in to a Private/Incognito Window.

indrasut: snip
That is weird, you are showing as US, so prices shall be in US. You are not using any VPN or similar? GOG does use your IP address for certain things.

Tried that and not working. And yes, I'm in the US and I set my locale to US, just the currency is somehow always showing in RUB. I'm not using any VPN or any other tunnel. It is weird. I haven't tried purchasing any game since this happens, so I do not know what is going to happen (from other threads looks like I might not be able to buy a game).

Maybe I'll give it a try this weekend...

If you have any extensions/add ons enabled to run in Private/Incognito, then try to disable them.

It must be cookie related if it's when you log in only.

To add a bit onto Kleetus reply, try it with save mode off FF, this will disable all apps whatever, if it then works, a hidden script or whatever is working in the background.

Wasn't aware of this feature as I've never used Firefox.

Sounds handy, I wish Chrome had similar.

And another reason to use it , so you might want to switch ;)

Edit:
Gives you a nice and easy way to test if a script or anything else makes trouble.

Thanks, but I'll stick with Google, they already know me so well.
Is there an update to this? I tried virtually everything and for some reason, even on a totally new computer, I still cannot change my currency setting despite of whatever I do.

It showed RUB and everything priced in Ruble really is annoying that I can't even change it, when I can change everything else, including the language. Any reason this can be looked at by GOG support team?
