Yes, if you contact the GOG support team through the ticket system. They don't read the forums that often.

I know, I'm sorry, I was giving up after a while. I tried again yesterday and still the same issue. I did not open a new account, however I bought a game this morning on a sale and used my US credit card. Magically, it turned all of the pricing into USD so it seems I'm all set now...
