I haven't seen any of his films for two decades now, but I used to love them as a kid. Looking at him now it's amazing how similar I look to a spaghetti western era Bud Spencer. Huh.

Soooo wish it wasn't already. :( :(

Goodbye Carlo!
Saw it last night on the news but couldn't believe it for a moment. Loved his movies and the way he fights.

R.I.P. Buddy
Goodbye :(
Go teach the angels how to eat beans
RIP

He has been part of my youth.

Blue Lagoon ?

Bud Spencer

And no, he did not do the stunt double for Brooke Shields. But I could imagine him and Hill having been open to a mockup BL cover remake just for the lulz back then. Everything I read & heard of him outside of his movie roles described him as equally if not more so awesome with a great sense of humor.

ciomalau is a byproduct of CIA's MKULTRA project. They gave him so much LSD he hasn't been lucid since the 70s. Don't mind him. And yeah, Bud was an all around great guy I think. At least from all the stories I've been reading. I'm trying to get a hold of some of the films I watched as a kid to rewatch now.

Supercop, Trinity duology, Blackie the Pirate, Banana Joe - with Philip Michael Thomas of Miami Vice, I think - God Forgives, I Don't - probably his first with Hill -, and that one with the cars where they have a hot-dog eating contest.

Of course, that's only to begin with. All of them are great.

I still remember that hot dog contest. I was probably in elementary school and I still remember that. :)

Of course you do.

That's a testament to how great Spencer & Hill were together. They'd be in front of the camera eating hot dogs - or beans! - for about 5 or 10 minutes & you weren't bored, somehow. In fact, you were laughing you ass off. They just made it work!

I'd like to see anyone else doing that.

Goddammit, now I'm all teary eyed, crying like a little pussy. Bud would disapprove!

I'm pretty sure Bud was a sentimental kind of guy. :)
And yeah, they just don't make them the same these days. People AND films.
