With Kickstarter beta access on GOG.com!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is becoming one of the biggest, most successful Kickstarter campaigns in history.

Straight from the under the watchful eye of Koji Igarashi, one of the godfathers of the genre, comes the newest exploration-focused, side scrolling platformer with RPG and crafting elements. In short, it's shaping up to be the biggest Metroidvania release in recent memory - already surpassing its original Kickstarter goal by sixfold. As of right now that is.

We're huge fans of IGA and Castlevania, so when we heard that Koji Igarashi was returning to the genre we knew we wanted to work with the team to play our part in getting this amazing spiritual successor out there, completely DRM-free, with our signature kind of customer love.

That's why we're excited to announce that we'll be supporting the upcoming release with DRM-free versions to all Kickstarter backers of the game pledging $28 or more!

Everyone who backs the project at the $60 tier (or higher) will receive not only a DRM-free digital copy of the game, but also exclusive backer-only content and access to the beta, all right here on GOG.com.

You can make your pledge over on Kickstarter, and stay tuned for future backer updates with more details on how to get started with your access to the beta.

Came in here to make "coming soon - still get here before Crawl" joke.

I was beaten to it.
Interesting. Good job in working to get as much traffic related to the game here as possible, GOG.
This game is interesting. Not to mention, that i have played lot of Castlevania series since 8-bit nintendo.
Yes! It would be great to see a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series!
Great to hear that this is coming to GOG! :) I tweeted Igarashi but never heard back (perhaps due to language barrier?) and assumed it wouldn't appear, but it's great to hear it is coming!

SirPrimalform: GOG, see if you can get Yooka-Laylee by Playtonic onboard now. Seriously, surf the publicity wave and keep the momentum going!
Amen!

I'm almost impressed how flawless their short description of GOG is. Either GOG dictated them what to write or they actually paid attention. I mean, it's 2015 and there are still companies and journalists who refer to GOG as 'Good Old Games' or use the old logo to illustrate an article.
Nice. Definitely will get that one, I love me some castlevania-esque games.

Riotact: I don't get this, is it like Early Access for Galaxy or something?
avatar
SirPrimalform: Probably not a 'public' early access thing like Steam does. I imagine it'll only be for backers just to see how the thing they backed is coming on.
Ah, OK, I just thought with the crappy EA games on Steam, I thought GOG were following suit with Galaxy, because I don't ever remember gog pimping out a KS game before.

Thanks :)
I'm a 32 year old man and I was giddy as a schoolgirl when he threw away that glass.
God, I miss Castlevania.
I'm suddenly feeling interested in this game again. Nice one GOG! :D

Yes, they definitely made a good video.

Also found it interesting that he mentioned having additional backers that were waiting for confirmation of public interest in the title before committing funds.
Between the rep, the resume, the cash in hand from Kickstarter and whatever the investors provide, it doesn't sound like a shaky public access run where you have to worry about the developers falling apart before the full game ever gets released.

Corwim: This game isn't for me, but I do like that confirmations for Gog releases of Kickstarter games are announced like this before the end of the campaign, so I can decide to back a game knowing for sure it will be released here. :-)

Shambhala: My thoughts exactly!
Ditto. I hope that GOG makes this into a tradition.
Vow never expected to see gog doing early access. Hope this goes well.

So true. I've never kickstarted any game but this one might be the first.
$300 pledged before. GOG making it DRM only makes it sweeter
