My first love for "gaming" began and my friends house, who had a Commodore 64 home computer and he only had one game on casette tape -> Popeye. But we played it to death. The casette-player died. Really.

And after that, my first experience with real PCs were in school, were they had some 286 and two Intel 386s. The later had colour monitors! (❁´◡`❁). One of these computers had some DOS games like CD-Man (a pacman clone), Golden Axe and Arcade Volleyball.

These were the golden times for me.
It began when my friend got his first SNES console, about 22-23 years ago. At first, I just looked at him playing Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, then when he handed me the controller for the first time, I felt great and weird at the same time. A character on the screen actually responded to my prompts and controls.
My love of gaming can be traced back to playing star wars battlefront 2 on my cousins laptops at family meetups. Played it for hours every chance I could and i've been hooked ever since
My Love of games began when I was old enough to know what games were and the enjoyment factor that came with them. The first-ever system I set my eye on was a ZX Spectrum Computer with a Tape Deck Built-in. And I fondly remember playing Oh Mummy and Centipede with my mum 'which we enjoyed thoroughly 'at the time then we upgraded to the mini disc version 'which was state of the art at the time.

But just as all technology pushes on, I was induced to my 'most favourite being The Sega Mega Drive as I remember having a blast playing all those Classics. 'Such as the Sonic Series, Eco The Dolphin, Kid Chameleon, Jurassic Park, Jungle Strike, Road Rash Series, B.O.B, Rambo 3 as well as to many to mention. 'Then moved on to 'PlayStation One 'where I first played Westwood's Command & Conquer and got hooked day one while completing every mission for both sides. And not forgetting the PlayStation version of Transport Tycoon with a 3D option added that induced me to what made tycoon games so addictive. But as they say, the rest is history. I still thoroughly enjoy my gaming to this day and will for the foreseeable future to come.

I was 5 or 6 years old (around 1983, 1984) and I got a disease (I don't remember what it was) that forbade my from leaving home. I couldn't go outside at all. My dad, I don't know how, was able to get me an Atati 2600 (during the wildest days of the infamous market reserve the stupid Brazilian government imposed on us) so I could have some fun indoors. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I never stopped gaming ever since. And I believe that Atari made such an impression on me that it influenced me become the computer technician that I am today.
It started with Pong on some custom pre-Atari console that had a switch to select between 5 or so games.
Continued later with awesome games on the ZX Spectrum and evolved through the years.
There is only one video game --- Pong, to which I was introduced in 1978 --- everything else is a clone.
Pretty much started playing video games on my friends original Game Boy mostly playing Super Mario Land, Pokemon Yellow and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. After that my parents bought me a PlayStation (PS1) along with Armored Core, Crash Team Racing and Hogs of War - all of which I spent a lot of time playing.
I started off with Atari 2600 and a black & white tv, but what got me hooked to PC games was the old Sierra adventure games (e.g., King's Quest, Space Quest).
It started with my official love of anime, in 1985 when I was testing Chinese consoles at the street vendor market in the supermarket parking lot. On a trip to see the highest Lake in the world (Lake Titikaka) to Puno passing through a market on the outskirts of the city, I see a door where people enter and leave, I enter with great fear and my surprise are arcade machines where I met Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Pacman. I started with the used and old PCs (due to difficulties in accessing the technology) XT (one of F1 that I do not remember its name), 286/386 (Digger), etc. The first one that was new and personal use was the PIII with W98SE where I met the Trilogy Doom, Quake and Duken Nuken and Age of Empire by Shareware and the following year my 1st game Quake and AOE.
A friend gave me a copy of the then newly released "Betrayal at Krondor". For the next 3 weeks I was glued to my computer while finishing the game twice. First to get to the end of the story, and then to play everything I missed the first time around. Since that time, I've been a gamer.
This was when I got the chance to play games on an Atari 2600 console owned by her cousin. With a great number of games we could enjoy together, and some we enjoyed playing with parts of our family, sometimes my cousins mother sometimes together with my father and grandmother also tried once as I remember. This memorable experience of being able to play Donkey Kong, The Smurfs, Space Invaders, and how great he blocks were looking, being able to have family around to have fun together, to play all sorts of Multiplayer titles, is what made me fall in love with games.
My first gaming started with NES witch was called [DENDY] in my country, later on I got SEGA Genesis. After that PC took the lead. I'm still playing allot of old really old games like dragon quest, legend of zelda and of course Heroes Might & Magic 3 Complete which is by far the most "influensual" game for me.
I have always loved gaming, as far as I can remember, but my love for video games started when I was about 5 or 6 years old? (I can't remember that part, it was a very long time!), when I couldn't get anyone to play with me, be it board games or using action figures, the people around me were either not interested or didn't have time to play. I think it was mostly because the things I wanted to play, were too far out or "gonzo" for their taste, which had more to do with what they would consider "normal".

So in an attempt to satisfy my craving for gaming entertainment, I started to fiddle with our Atari console. As I kept on playing, I became fascinated with the concept of a machine that could simulate these amazing worlds, where I could experience all sorts of adventures, without needing real life playmates. I think my love for gaming was mostly born out of two things: my appreciation of fictional realities and loneliness.

Which is funny, because now that I have been living for almost four decades, I realize that it was because of games that I met real friends that I can enjoy spending time with; and it was thanks to games that I have developed a greater appreciation of what truly matters and what is "real". So in the end, that loved blossomed into something far more meaningful than I could ever imagine.
