There is no need to rattle your bones to join our spine-chilling Halloween contest and celebrate this spooky season. This time, you can win 1 of 15 horror game bundles by simply recommending a horror game in the comments!

The bundle includes the following games: Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, CARRION, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, SOMA, Outlast, Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut and WORLD OF HORROR.

The contest ends on November 3rd, 2 PM UTC.
I would recommend The Last Door. Graphic adventure, but minimalistic / low-res pixelart. Still very atmospheric and creepy. You set to investigate the dissapearance of an old schoolmate, after receiving a disturbing letter from him.

Silent Hill 2 gets my vote for being both scary and very sad
I don't know if someone already mention this but Clock Tower is an interesting horror game from 1995 that already use the idea about helpless player that can only run away and hide from the villain called Scissor Man.

A few games to give you the creeps this Halloween:

The 7th Guest, the 25th Anniversary Edition of which is available on GOG.

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, based on Harlan Ellison's terrifying short story.

System Shock, the original FPS sci-fi horror that paved the way for subsequent classics like Deus Ex and Portal.

Diablo. Get the Hellfire expansion, too!
Here are two old horror games with arcade gameplay

I'd like to recommend Slain: Deeply atmospheric horror metal platformer.
The Black Mirror I (2003)
Arkham Knight. It is the Halloween game.
I loved Alan Wake!
Dracula--The Undead. Man I loved playing that game. Only available for Atari Lynx, alas.
Silent Hill 1-3 are my go to for this time of year.
It's not on GOG, but 2Dark was a pretty tense and atmospheric horror game. I hope it comes to GOG one day. Another game that I hope comes to GOG is the first Nightmare Creatures. I loved it back in the day and it deserves to be released on here.
NOTE: I'm making a recommendation, but I don't want to enter, I have no interest in any of those games at all.

Back before Yahtzee Croshaw was known for being angry at every game ever for no apparent reason, he was a pretty decent old school adventure game maker. His entire Chzo mythos is well worth checking out, but I'd recommend Trilby's Notes in particular. Excellent horror game.
I recommend outlast. Its a game that will stay with you long after you played it,and has mastered the art of horror and suspense all the way through.
