Wifey needs a sleep in and I have trouble waking up when the little ones do no matter what time I sleep.

Anyone have some suggestions to keep myself up all night besides doing dishes and watching dank meme compilations?

Possibly a game that says 'hey just one more turn', or similar...?
How about a RPG with an engaging story? These are usually the games that keep me up all night, like Gothic or Planescape Torment. Also, now you have some time to really delve into it and you are not forced to quit after two hours when things might get interesting.

Edit.: If you are in need of a good RPG then, I also have a key for Baldur's Gate 1 Classic to give away. If you don't have it yourself and you are interested, you can have it. Just let me know

Oh I have all the classic versions, and Planescape :)
I could try them, as long as I don't need any knowledge of D&D rules.

I haven't played Planescape, but I was told that the story is most important in that game and that gameplay is relatively basic. So I guess, reading the manual and understanding the effects of the different stats should be enough. I don't think you need to have extensive knowledge of the D&D rules.

Other games that I can recommend that don't require you to have any knowledge are Fallout 1, Arcanum and Dragon Age: Origins.

Any Tropico title will do nicely. ;)
Any "Just one more turn..." game.
Not sure why, but I think Startopia would be a solid choice. It's not as involved as Evil Genius or Dungeon Keeper, and it's a lot of fun to just sit back and watch all the visiting aliens go about their activities.

This. This. Play Planescape.

One, they messed with the D&D rules to make a point so everything except a wizard is a trap. Play a wizard, raise Wisdom (18 and counting - very important!) and Intelligence (at least 16 in the beginning and keep raising it), maybe put like 13 in Dex. The Friends spell takes care of Charisma checks. Combat in this game is (1) easy and (2) not the point, and you can't screw up a build -- there aren't really any builds to speak of.

Two, the first time I played it (at night in a dark and drafty room), I nearly shat a brick from horror.

TL;DR if you're going to spend a significant continuous span of time playing, it's better to play a horror game with a progressing plot than a "one more turn" time-waster.
If you're not in the mood for an RPG, get Immortal Defense on Steam.
Civilisation or Football Manager games are great for losing track of time.

I would play Team Fortress 2. It has to be at least an action game, and being a competitive (online) game helps me to stay wide awake. I guess it is all that adrenaline in my veins.

With single-player RPGs, adventure games etc. I tend to usually just get sleepier, at least if there is some boring section or I am stuck in one place. I recall having to stop playing Baldur's Gate over and over again, just because I was getting sleepy from playing it, sometimes even during day time. Lately the same has happened with Fallout Tactics (but not Fallout 1-2).

This, Tropico is definitely an all-nighter.

Or The Guild 2: Renaissance with Fajeth's MegaModPack. In the beginning slow-paced, you won't notice how addictive managing your firms and life in real time is going to be for some hours.
Have you tried Dota 2 or Heroes of the Storm ?

I have, but I can only seem to play one match at a time regardless of the time. They give me the same feeling at the end of a movie - you slowly get up, stretch, yawn and then feel like passing out.

I remember spending some late nights going into early mornings with Disciples II when I was younger... and wasn't picking cotton bit by kilobit in me massa's plantation.
