sega launches a mini megadrive with 80 games
http://www.usgamer.net/articles/begun-the-clone-wars-have-sega-fires-back-at-classic-mini-nes-with-a-mini-genesis

sadly its one of those at games mongrels being shat out for a quick buck
and "only" 40 of the games are actual megadrive classics
the rest is shovel ware
and apparently they dont even support save games

...hmm

whats the word here ?
oh yeah cash grab !

thought it might warrant its own thread
It comes with "Jack's Plea"!? Holy Shit, where can I get one!? :P

Sounds to me like they were caught off guard by Nintendo so they handed their boys a roll of duct tape and told them to deliver something fast and cheap.

pffft duct tape ?
thats way over budget for this operation
The biggest problem here is not Sega copying Nintendo's idea, rivalry is good.
The biggest problem imo is the quality of the product!
Nintendo products usually have good quality, it's not easy to break their controls for example.
I fear for the durability of this new product.

The number of times I've been hit in the head with one is a testament to that.

and what is the story behind that ?

I really hope you was wearing a helmet or something!
that seems like a rushed, greedy money grab without any substance. I wouldn't mind the copy per se but ya seems they lack a convincing concept and execution on that.
Evidently none of you ever spent a late night with the boys playing NES Hockey or Double Dribble and gotten the game winner with just seconds to go.

That usually results in a controller induced head injury. :P

pretty much
i wouldnt mind picking it up if it had a decent price tag ie 60 or less
and more importantly save states
trying to play phantasy star 2 3 o4 or the shining games with out saving is insanity

Oh yeah, I agree 100%!
I somehow missed that "feature" of the console.
What were they thinking!? o.O

That's probably why they invented the wrist straps in Wii controls.
Too many complaints about injuries and broken TVs, windows, etc.

If its sound quality is anything like its previous iteration, then LOL, no thanks.
