My opinion?
Don t support Activision, that is my opinion.

It looks nice, but they intentionally made the women ugly, as the developer
responsible for those designs did show. Yes he released to original "sexy"
designs of the Amazon and Sorceress and Assasine on artstation.

If you want to play D2 "remake" and can stand slightly worse graphic
play
GRIM DAWN (already the better Diablo 3)
and
Install Reign of Terror mod for it, current Version 7.1.0

You will get a nice Diablo 2 and Diablo 1 experience with that
Yes they made ACT 6 that brings back D1 dungeons.

Just try it, doesn t look "much" worse imo, also you didn t throw money at
Activision and that company (as well as others) just need to burn down these days

Steamisbetter: I am still sad for the sad remake of Warcraft 3, even though i never got it (saw that coming, too). It replaced the original too, but i have my copy of game+expansion on disk (multiplayer folks are screwed).
Nah, you can still do multiplayer via LAN.

rtcvb32: Games with 3D models could certainly use a minor upgrade with texture/models. Games utilizing sprites on the other hand are fully functional but resolutions don't keep up very well.
I didn't mention graphics because for all its aging faults, Warcraft 1 graphics are still decent, for me at least. Rather, it lacks all essential and comfort features and challenges we've grown accustomed to in strategic games, and that makes it rather... unsatisfying at best.

rtcvb32: I really wish Copyright would drop to something reasonable and older stuff go to the public domain.
It's getting particularly ridiculous when the game or other media is held and sold by some completely irrelevant, greedy and uncaring hoarder corp and original creators, designers, writers, artists and coders get the boot, don't receive a penny from those sales, and can't make a continuation or derivative of their own collaborative work no matter how much they would like to.

EULAs also grown to be particularly nasty, and are getting worse by day. It's a travesty that the buyer is subject to obligations, responsibilities and penalties, while writers of it use every underhanded trick to absolve themselves from all that, and as of late engage in outright theft. Any agreement of the sort should be very brief and very clear; the seller of a product should be under obligations and liabilities, not the buyer, and they certainly shouldn't try to claim the buyer's own works.

No matter remastered or not it's still old crap.

only game that they really remastered was Homeworld

The remastered version of Homeworld feels quite a bit easier. Some of the very hard frustrating missions are cakewalks in the remaster.

Not sure if that is a good or bad thing, it just is. With many fan made remasters (like that of Fallout Tactics Redux) it is the opposite, they seem to increase the difficulty, which I don't like either.
