Matewis: Didn't even know about it thanks! I'll definitely make a note of it.
You're welcome :)

JesperU: We have the full set of Quake and the first two Doom games so... yeah?
It'd be reasonable to expect it, given the games we already have here. I don't have SCPM's list handy but it might be worth checking with him about it.

Also, my memory's rusty, but I'm pretty positive there have been other cases where GOG sells a series of games with one or more of the series either not sold by GOG or taking a lot time to come to its catalog. (I think there's a misisng SpellForce 2 game (Faith in Destiny) that isn't on GOG.)
Bethesda hates us and will only let gog sell the old kraps

Oh BFG edition actually has its merits. Native widescreen support for one. Full controller support for Doom 1, 2 and 3 that's packaged in it for another. And a new campaign for Doom 3 which I'm told is pretty cool.

What's wrong with the "old krap"? Those are good games.

Dumbed down, the horror is essentially taken out the game with changing graphics that there is almost no shadows, everything is very bright. Doom 3 was a horror game until it was dumbed down in to a action flick which is not bad if you wan't original Doom gameplay but its bad if you liked the changes Doom 3 brought.

Brightness is fucked, Doom 1 and 2 have been changed to have pills on medkits.
More ammo spread everywhere, faster movement. No option for normal flashlight instead of just pressing f to turn it on or off at any time ruining atmosphere. etc.

As far as I know, most important difference is mods aren't compatible with bfg edition.

I played doom 3 original and using dhwem (an engine alternative based on released source code of doom engine.). Both are very enjoyable IMO. But if I remember correctly, even dhwem isn't compatible with bfg edition.

Doom 3 was like the babby's first horror.
"So how will it be scary?"
"We put a monstew in thewe!"
"But that's not scary."
"It will be vewy vewy dawk and scawy tho."
"All right."

Doom 3 worked best as an action game, and while I agree that BFG edition ruined some cool scenes which made you make use of external lightning sources, it also made the game a fair bit more entertaining. And since it's a fairly slow game, full controller support it a godsend.

It would probably be for the best to also package the original with BFG tho, for people who for some inexplicable reason like it as a horror game and, more importantly, for mods.

That... Has got to be like the most petty complaint ever :-P

You may think it's a petty complaint, but it I hate it. It's like defacing a piece of art. It reminds me of another time someone did something similar...

Yes, changing single icon is totally comparable to what you linked. Come on, that's just inflating something way out of proportion. All right then, it changes icons on health packs. It also adds native widescreen and controller support. I'd almost say that benefits outweigh the negatives :-P
