mk47at: There is an obvious difference. You can download the mod from somewhere else if you know where it is (or if the page is indexed by a search engine).
Yes. IF. And both aren't true for people who came to Nexus Mods for flag mod and found that it was deleted and the author banned.

avatar
mk47at: What you're doing is like going into the garden an verbally talking to a tree in the middle of an discussion, then going back to the discussion and saying “guess what I told the tree”.
Yes, and since the other's side argument IS "you have free speech since you can always talk to a tree", this kind of action IS a proper counter-argument.

my name is grompy catte: Again, you're comparing a mod - which is a thing people download because they want it - with a single reply in a discussion. Anyone can find a mod that they want by searching. Finding a single response from a discussion that is randomly somewhere else is a completely different (and nonsensical) situation.
Okay. Find me a link to the mod that changes "rainbow flag" to US flag and I'll post a link to my answer. That is if you are actually interested in the answer and your claim about "more difficult to find" isn't just an excuse.

P.S. Edited to clarify my request.

Be quick, I'm not going to leave this link here. That took me maybe 3 minutes to find by the way.

LootHunter: Okay. Find me a link to a no-"rainbow flag" mod
"The mod replaced the very few Pride flags the game actually has, with the already prevalent USA flag texture from the game," Robin Scott added.

Imagine being so unsecure, that a few textures that don't show your preferred wanking material, throw you into a personal crisis.

Here, LootHunter: pants down and fresh to work:

P.S. Jeez, you paranoid. If you are so afraid that "fair and unbiased" GOG moderators will go after you, you could just sent me the link through PM. Unlike other people I don't consider PM to be harassment, unless it's actual harassment.

Well that was anti-climactic, not to mention wrong. The mod maker's freedom of speech is very much intact, as we have already established. You've also destroyed your own analogy here. I found that mod in 3 minutes of googling. Please explain how I could have found your reply using the same method?

Enjoy your mod by the way.

No, it's not that I'm worried about anyone else. I simply don't want the link fouling up my post. Like Nexus Mods, I don't want to be associated with it. I posted it here so that everyone could see how quickly I found it, sending it to you via PM would be no fun.

Catventurer: I found your violin!
Now go play a mournful tune for the right-whiners.

BreOl72: Aww, that's one cute little violin.
What's even better is it's name: Sad Tiny Violin for People Who Complain Too Much™

It doesn't matter if you could, or not. The point still stands, you have to spend 3 minutes (damn, you fast, I'm sure google will delete top results soon enough) instead of 10 seconds if the mod was on Nexus or ModDB.

And getting a lecture about how free speech is handled in USA from Russia is - strange at best.

Oh, I didn't mean in the game necessarily. I just thought you might stare lovingly at the files, safe in the knowledge that people can still remove all the rainbow flags from the game if they want.

Sorry, but a lack of convenience isn't an infringement of freedom of speech.

Let's say someone put a racist sign on my lawn and I take it down.

My next door neighbour who is a racist (but didn't make the sign) liked seeing the sign on my lawn. He's now complaining that he has to walk a couple of blocks to the house of the guy who makes the signs. The freedom of both my neighbour nor the racist sign maker is intact.

My racist neighbour doesn't have a right to be able to have me host the sign. He could put the sign on his lawn or he could go and see it at the sign maker's house. Both are less convenient than having the sign on my lawn but that is not loss of freedom of speech.

An interesting scenario. It looks as if your idea of freedom is to break anything that ends on your lawn if you don't like it. XD
high rated
A Russian trying to explain what freedom is. LOLWUT! The internet...

Maybe starting to give the people in the Ukraine their freedom back by ending the war, leaving their country, and accepting their sovereignty would be something better to do instead of whining about the removal of a mod.

I didn't say anything about breaking it, just removing it from my lawn. Why would anyone else have the right to host their views on my lawn?

Are you sure? Because "He's now complaining that he has to walk a couple of blocks to the house of the guy who makes the signs" sounds awfully lot like "The sign is no longer in operating condition".

I made the sign maker take his sign home with him. The fact that you're focusing on details like this shows how little you actually have left in terms of meaningful arguments.
