If you’ve been hanging around for a while, especially in the <a href=”"http://www.gog.com/games">games tab</a>, you may have noticed that the growing number of items on our virtual shelf was inching closer and closer to our very first thousand - lo and behold, just this week we made it through our first 1k.

We could start off by thanking the Academy, our moms, and hoping for world peace - and it's not that we don't want to say all those things, but before we do, we want to thank the most important people that made it possible - all of YOU. It may sound a bit turgid and you might not believe that we're tearing up a little as we click "publish" on this piece of news, but you guys are the ones that make GOG.com what it is and our reason to continue bringing you more great games.

Before we break out the fruit punch, though, we want to honor those of you who almost caught up with us. We dug through our records and picked fifty users that have the most boxes on their own virtual shelves.

Let's all give an alphabetically ordered round of applause to:

Antarian, astrugar710, atomsword, AutumnYears, baketomato, Barry_Woodward, benjam47, budejovice, CuriousTwoAtGOG, Darthmort, Disciple_of_Doom, djr155, DonCorleon, Gersen, gorrrrrr, Heirgeir, howardtduck2005, ilcollezionista, jabba1971, JDelekto, KajQrd, kiwy, Kodijack, kotokimura, Lafazar, liquidBass, lobo_1, Loenas, maweball, mrkgnao, MTR77, Murfallo, mwmwm, n0nam3, OlK76, onthemike, palyea, Pantoprazol, sbaylus, Serpico, ShadowWulfe, Silvanus2004, soulroar, tippete, TrevWar, turbond, vasyl, VuA, xckx, and ZombieGum.

We will be contacting these guys personally for T-shirt sizes and mailing addresses for a little, personalized thank-you. We are off to celebrate - but before we go, here's to another thousand digital boxes on the GOG.com shelf!

Chris020974: Congratulations GOG!
Thank you for bringing us many great games in the last few years.

I wonder which Games will be in the next 1000.
Hoping for Street Fighter IV.
same here, i saw some newer games on steam that might look okay, they still need to be released though.
some click and points and adventure games, theres also loads of shooters that have very cool graphics and effects,.
But there are so many old games still lying around, search on youtube and you be amazed how many potential GOG games there might be among them.

T-Shirts? Aw, I want a GOG T-shirt. :l

mrkgnao: - Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich
That's not an option. At least, not here.
It's nice to own a lot of games from Gog. I am nowhere near the top with almost 500. Congrats to gog, and the top 50.

Most of the time, I buy games for later. I install them much later after the purchase date. What I am finding is that many of the games have issues, like flashing or other graphical issues, and it's really souring me on the whole buy old games for nostalgia.

Oops. Forgot.

gamesfreak64: This list gives a good impression of what kind of game i like best

mrkgnao: A lot of names that I would have on my list too. Glad to see Braveland there. Not a super great game, but got a lot more bad publicity than it deserves, IMHO.

You should probably try:
- Blackguards
- Etherlords 2
- Fantasy Wars
- Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich
- S2: Silent Storm
Blackguards Special Edition + 1 Dlc
Purchased On Dec 5, 2014

i have it dont play it cause the lightning cant be turned of (phtosensitivy overhere plus motionsickness aswell)

another nice game but weird effects it is from insomnia sales so the price is not a waste

Cognition Episode 3: The Oracle
Cognition Episode 4: The Cain Killer
Cognition Episode 1: The Hangman
Cognition Episode 2: The Wise Monkey

I have xulima DLX and am waiting for patch 1.7 to arrive to disable lightning effects, they claim 1.6 should work but 1.6 overwrites and default to the old settings so i cant disable the lightning in 1.6.
I bought xulima at steam (yes i am guilty) because the game looked so cool, and i did not know how long it would take before it would arrive on gog, so sometimes in rare occasions i do buy double games if i see that the game is exactly what i want.

If there would be options by default incluidng a option in the game to disable all irri lightning effects, games would be able to be sold to any public.

That's apparently not so difficult. It's just somewhat expensive buying all those games.

The sun was in my eyes. How do you expect me to forum properly with the sun in my eyes.

Congrats to our fellow GOGgers for the recognition, you sure have played a defining role in making GOG bigger.

And I hope that a number of us will still be around to see the 2K milestone, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sachys: I can only hope those on that list from the forums ask GOG to save their resources and plough them into fixing things around here instead.

Probably not a popular idea, but its what immediately popped into my head.

Congratulations at any rate.
Even if they did, do you really think that GOG would put them into what you suggested?

mrkgnao: Some statistics on the OP list (collected through Google and MaGog):

- 1 probably does not live in Vatican City

[Disclaimer: done manually, may contain mistakes]
I assume that you're referring to xckx; he's a Canadian who moved to Vatican City some years back because he likes the place.

And very well said, you know where I stand.

vanchann: Congratulations GOG! I wish you to reach the next K soon!

Since this is an unusual announcement on Saturday, I wonder what the upcoming week will bring!!!
In what seems to have become GOG's tradition or trademark, probably some Good News™.
Congrats GOG! Keep bringing us great games from the golden age AND the new... DRM-free as always :)
You have my support!

Good job! Thanks!

PS: Can we actually get GOG achievements some day please?
Congrats to GOG for the milestone, and good job, super-collectors! :)

MrAlphaNumeric: PS: Can we actually get GOG achievements some day please?
Wasn't that already planned for Galaxy? Or maybe I'm just making it up, not sure right now.

Now that I've reread this - you might want to offer some public recognition and thanks to those whose Gift tab has almost caught up with you.
Pretty sure they've also played an equally important role in unlocking this achievement.

Also, just fyi, I will totally keep making jokes on the forums about "needing" Fallout 2 if a code accidentally slips into my t-shirt in the shipping process.
