zeogold: I bet Omega that this would be the only post that dtgreene would reply to, while ignoring everybody's comments about him.
I was right.

dtgreene: You failed to consider the fact that I just had to go out just now.

Also, I am not a "he" or "him", so please don't refer to me as such.
Forgive me, oh nameless, ageless, faceless, gender-neutral, racially ambiguous, culturally anonymous forum user.

Give it 10 posts.

zeogold: Meh I've seen him do quicker. I'd say 5 on average. All it needs is for one person to take the bait.
I should point out that what you see as "bait" is often not meant to be taken. For instance, if I ask not to be referred to a certain way, all you need to do is stop referring to me that way and I won't need to keep posting about it.

avatar
dtgreene: Actually, no. You just happen to be only looking at some topics; in particular, in topics about game design that I post in, it doesn't tend to become political.
I was joking, indicated by the :p
Try again.

If you gave it some thought I'm sure you'd notice claiming "every thread" is ridiculous.

Then do tell us, seeing as we've gone through nearly every term you can possibly refer to another person as outside of my signature ludicrous nicknames:
What WOULD you like to be called?

I asked for extra bacon on my pizza and they gave me no extra bacon. Life is unfair that way.

I've told you time and time again that you keep ending up as bait whether you mean it or not. Did you somehow miss this over the 5+ instances I've conveyed this to you?

zeogold: What WOULD you like to be called?
Betty.
To anyone that gets this reference, you're awesome.

GAD! THOSE SICK MONSTERS!
If you were an American, you could sue for that. Heck, I might sue them for you.

dtgreene: Self identity is an important thing, more than most people realize.
But bro and dude aren't declarations about someone's identity. Weird example: if someone called me something like "love muffin," it'd be weird, but having a conniption because I don't identify as a muffin wouldn't exactly be a rational reaction. ignoring intent (in a lot of cases, "bro" is inclusive) just comes across as nitpicking.

zeogold: What WOULD you like to be called?
I wonder if there's a gender neutral version of "bro"?

Zirfist, yo!

Somehow, clicking on it still works anyways.

Also, my "Shirley" reference, to those who don't know, was a running joke in the Airplane! movie.

Funny story: early on in my wife's policing career, she was dispatched to a 911 call where the complainant was complaining that they didn't put fresh tomatoes on his pizza - rather, they had cooked them with the pizza and, damnit, he wanted them sliced fresh and put on afterward!

(Obviously, it was not treated as an emergency call once he described the issue, but they still had to send an officer over to calm him down and keep him from becoming a 911 nuisance).

If you haven't already, also watch Police Squad! (the TV series, though the films were good too).
