Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

mrkgnao: Still works ok for me, but things are breaking left and right (see the "what did just break?" thread) so I wouldn't be surprised if that goes soon too.
No "owned" labels for me either, probably turned off by GOG.

I guess I'm lucky. Still ok for me.

Nth new for me - every big event on GOG results in such issues for me. Fingers crossed it won't spill over to you..

PaladinWay: I can't say with certainty if it's the My Account update or maybe things getting a little jumbled in the upcoming release for Witcher 3 (started check ~5-10 minutes before it released), but I'm no longer seeing indications regarding what games I own or not.
I initially also thought of yet another bug as it already failed for me before the Witcher unlocking started. But the lookup indeed may have been disabled intentionally. I even would have understood that, but obviously GOG once again doesn't bother to inform us about such things.

Addendum to my Feedback on the Games Collection (posts , [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/a_new_my_account_d5f25/post645]#645, and #729)

Three more points to make after checking it out more.

1. Look at attached screenshot GOG_Games-Grid_Drop-Down-Menu_Bad_15-05-19.png - the drop-down menu overlaps with the game card of the game on the ledge just below it, and makes it difficult to distinguish between the last option of the drop-down menu and the title of the game below. The reason this happens is that the difference between the fifty shades of grey used on the site is negligible at first glance.

NOTE: This is not a suggestion to space out the ledges, it's bad enough that we only have 100 titles per page. It's a suggestion to stop using exclusively shades of grey for everything. This was not a problem with the old shelf view, especially the dark one.

2. This is about the trouble of the current indications of new games, and using the date of the actual purchase. Look at attached screenshot GOG_Games-Grid_New_Bad_15-05-19.png. These are the last three games I added to my collection, and have not downloaded yet. Notice something missing? Yes, that little blue dot is nowhere to be seen. Now why is it missing since I've not downloaded them yet? Because I added them to my collection at a later time than the date they were purchased. Ever since GOG only counts the date of the actual purchase, games are not considered as new if one doesn't add them immediately to their account. Something that is impossible in the case of gifted games, as the gift codes are usually purchased during sales and promos, but not given away immediately.
The "new games labelling" system is not efficient, and must be reworked; as demonstrated above, it's pretty much useless as it is now. And before one argues "but that's what filters and searching are for" - well, if some time passes, one might not remember their titles, so... Next argument might be "check the Orders History" - hmm... no, one would have to apply multiple filters and perform multiple searches, and that does not work well as already stated here.

3. Revisiting the game details pages. Look at attached screenshot GOG_Games-Details_15-05-19.png. The game details page takes up a lot of screen space, yet has a lot of space that is not put to use. What use would that be?

3.1 Purchase date should be added under the game title. It's impractical that one has to leave this page, go to a different account tab to find this info in the "Orders History", when this piece of info was right there, ready to be easily checked.

3.2 Ever since the site revamp, the links to the specific game fora are not automatically added to one's list in the Community page, I'm not sure if that was scrapped deliberately or if it's a bug introduced by the fresher, better GOG. One has to visit that page, search for the game they added to their collection and manually add the forum link to their list. Alternatively, one can open the game details page, click on the "More" drop-down menu, click on the "Forum" option, wait for the page to load, then mark it as their favourite. Neither of these ways is practical. The most efficient way is to be able to do this from the game details page, so I suggest that an option is added.

So it seems GOG has put Alone 2 and 3 as separate games in our accounts instead of just being stuck in the extras, so is this just going to be for Alone 2 and 3 or can we expect other titles like say the DOS version of Wizardry 7 and the classic versions of Broken Sword 1 and 2 to get the same treatment? I'm really hoping it's the latter, I always hated having to remember to go into the extras and download the version I wanted from there since Wiz gold is no where as good as the Dos version and the original version of Broken Sword 1 was in my opinion the better version.

Plus the new system makes grabbing extras a little annoying at least for getting the version of the game you wanted, since I rather just click a separate entry then click more -> installers and Extras -> then find the link for the other version.

The weirdest thing happened when I logged out yesterday. For some strange reason the account section at the top was still active displaying the number of notifications as well as providing me with direct access to my entire library however the forum acted as if I was logged off. I had to log on and off once more to resolve the issue.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and Firefox 38.0.1 without any add-ons.

What the heck?!

First of all, I didn't receive a notification about your reply, and secondly, which is much much worse, I then out of curiosity tried logging off and on again yet even though I'm now logged in and can view my favourite threads as well as post on the forum I still see the SIGN UP / LOG IN prompts at the top!

yes I've noticed this happening as well. I chalk it up to whatever feature cutbacks they made to the site for performance reasons.

Yes. I just got this email from GOG:

"In order to improve the performance of YOUR website and following the requests of MANY users, we are now requiring that all forum posts contain at least one of the following words "witcher" (or alternatively "the game"), "galaxy" (or alternatively "the client"), "friend" (or alternatively "the hell"). Any post not abiding by this rule is clearly spam and will not be posted. We are confident that this will GREATLY improve YOUR gog experience."

It is well known that too many shades of grey always lead to BDSM, pain and stupidity :)
(sorry, i couldnt help the pun)

mostly agree with your feedbacks, however

gog could never exist as it was forever. don't lament those who come from other places with their culture. welcome and show them a better way.

put yourself in their shoes. they're used to a client that has worked seamlessly since most of them have used it, having been designed intelligently by a smart group of folks who solved some problems before they happened and took the blows from dealing with others after the fact over the years.

buying the game here was already a departure, one made on good faith, and while it could vary on a case by case basis how much fault is CDP's, there was certainly some, and against what they came from it is very easy to fall into the pit of being biased. I feel no resentment or anger at the friend posts on the forums, or the complaints of Galaxy not working. I only hope that people show some understanding and realize that gog staff have not simply taken all this for granted and are certainly learning from their mistakes, much as Valve did in the early days.

Well said. I have nothing whatsoever against the newbie posters.

However, I do resent GOG for turning into a buggy steam wannabe. This is not the website I joined years ago and I fail to see why one cannot welcome newcomers while still preserving the legacy of the website of olden days.

I would prefer to experience the GOG of early days than the Valve of early days.
