Big changes are here.

My Account is the heart of your GOG.com experience. It's the one place that's 100% yours, and the place you always go to download your games and manage the entire library.
Starting today, your My Account is completely new - remade and redesigned from scratch to better support our growing library of games and many of your biggest requests. Aside from every usability fix we could think of, we've also introduced brand new tools to keep your library organised, and new social features to stay in touch with your friends.

The list of new features is long, but you can see the whole thing on our forums. The most important highlights include:

--Support for friends lists and chat.
--Shared wishlists.
--Advanced filtering and custom tags for your library.
--A new, detailed order history.
--Accessible game changelogs.

We're sure that these new changes will greatly improve your overall user experience on GOG.com, and we can't wait to hear what you think on the wishlist and right here in the comments!

This new account system is in a word clunky.

I would prefer game boxes and to have all my games on the one page. Also it is not intuitive to navigate out of the game downloads area once you have clicked on a game. A back button or a small x to close the download area would help.
In orders history, orders that are older than Jul 28, 2014 show up as "Paid with free order", even though they were "Paid with PayPal".
Is that how it should be, or is it some mistake made by unbundling games?

somberfox: I liked it better when the collection actually looked like a shelf with game boxes. Now it's a boring grid.
This. :p

I really like your confidence in this. So far, the reply is "NO", but then we both know I'm not your user target group.

I'm still going through the new system, and making a list of things that greatly improve not my user experience.

But since you're so eager to hear what we think, take a look here.

Since both the Galaxy client and the site use the same interface for the game collection, it's return will fix both sides.

On a side note - thanks for dumping this on us the way you did: make the announcement on a Friday afternoon, ignore all questions about a time frame, then roll it out on Monday.

Is this an oversight, will it be fixed?

InkPanther: Yes, they're working on importing messages to new system. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/my_account_big_changes_on_the_horizon/post297/?staff=yes
Thanks for the info, much appreciated! :)

IwubCheeze: Liking the changes so far but I do have 2 questions.

1) Before the upgrade, I had 2 games hidden but I can't find the option to unhide them, anyone mind telling me where the option is? Not that I really care about having them back because Teen Agent and KKND2 were crap anyways.

2) If there much point in having the title of the game right below the picture as the picture includes the title anyways. Just seems somewhat redundant.
There may be a quicker way but so far I've found that if you search for the game name it will tell you that no results were found except in your hidden games and gives you the option to see the hidden game, you can then go into the game on the shelf and 'unhide' permanently, if you like
(I'd hidden Teen Agent too but not because it's rubbish but because I'd finished it - I actually found it quite charming!)
I'm reminded of the fact that I absolutely hate the dropdown menus, like those in the filter bar. One accidental motion, and I have to bring it up again to continue searching for the wanted option. But this is strictly a personal issue, so I won't blame GOG for that.

Outside of that, it doesn't appear to be nearly as bad as I expected :), so I guess it's okay for now. Yay for the orders history!
Wow, thanks, GOG :)

Tiny question: previous 'messages' can be found in...?

AndyBuzz: ib4 "I need an option to have the old account back!"

Hmm, on second thought that wouldn't be half bad. :P
Yup! I want that! :(
That's really nice overall.
The first minor detail that annoys me is the dropdown menu when browsing a game, I'd prefer a litlle more contrast or something ; being on the same "level" as the background it lacks focus.
Then I really appreciate all the purchase/gift information (however most of my older purchase are displayed as 'free purchase' even when that's clearly not the case)

Edit : oh and I expected some gdfsgsdfhgsdfghsdgfh, didn't find any surprisingly ;-)

Good point.

Before the weekend Ciris has messaged me about my honorable mentioning in the Pick-A-Loop contest, all with a redeemable gift-code. I messaged him back to ask whether it was okay for me to click it since I did not get that mention for my first pick, but for a subsequent mention of a song.

That message is now gone.

Barry_Woodward: Is there any chance you could add the option to allow us to view our entire collection on one page like before?
This. No manual sorting is bad enough, but now I can't enjoy seeing all of my collection on one page.

Agreed.

Btw where are the gift games/codes?

Edit: Found the gifts.Under Orders&Settings / Order History.Bit awkward to access.

The whole library is snake slow ... don't know why. Yesterday it was "normal" fast. Today GOG.com is just loading and loading ...

It has its flaws, but it's a good effort for people who actually like that sort of thing.

1. The gamecard links are still missing for unbundled games

2. Hiding the GOG downloader links behind two extra clicks is a step backward

3. The "GOG Downloader Links" button navigates the whole page to something that looks like it should be appearing in a popup

4. Instead of "No tags assigned yet - to do this, use the "MORE" drop-down menu.", wouldn't it make more sense to say "No tags assigned yet" followed by an "Edit" button that's present whether or not there are tags? That seems like a more natural, intuitive way to do it.

(Because I don't have plans to use Galaxy and the new design makes my existing workflow more awkward while also making a lot of work for me scrambling to update lgogd_uri and itad_jmporter, I'll paraphrase Alan Cox and say that my opinions are mostly unprintable.)
