Crosmando: I'm mostly referring to the myriad of self-named "Retro" youtube channels which *surprise surprise* are just hipsters playing NES/SNES games, without a C64/Amiga/DOS game to be seen.
If you want to watch people play C64/Amiga/DOS games, you should search accordingly:

Let's play C64
Let's play Amiga
Let's play DOS games

I'm sure, you'll find what you're looking for, whether those guys call their channels "retro" or not.
The project got cancelled (or will be, in the near future). :o(

To be honest, it was foreseeable...the amount of money plegded was stagnant for days, and nearly 2 millions is pretty much money to ask for, if all you can show are good intentions.

Hopefully, they will return with a working prototype, which will persuade some more people to pledge in their second attempt.

Mike Kennedy:
"Hey Everyone! It’s clear, in its current state the RETRO VGS Indiegogo campaign is dead in the water and thusly will be shut down early. Once the Indiegogo team explains to us how we can do this, the plug will be pulled and all of you who have contributed will receive a refund post haste. Or you can go in and request a refund from Indiegogo right now.

The good news is we aren’t giving up and have made some adjustments to our hardware team, which includes the involvement of... other hardware gurus who were part of our venture in the very beginning. We will also be lowering the price while maintaining most of the cool features you all want.

We will be back in the near future with a prototype RETRO VGS system, front-and-center playing our games on our cartridges and with our USB controller. Sit tight, be patient and RETRO VGS will return.

Thanks again for your support, patience and understanding while we regroup and prepare for the relaunch of a new crowdfunding campaign."

BreOl72: After all, this is not KS, but Indiegogo...I believe, the terms here are different from KS!?
(Your money will be pledged, even if the campaign's goal is not met...I think, I read that somewhere)
Indiegogo has the possibility of both flexible funding (what you described) and fixed funding (no money taken unless the set amount is hit). And since this campaign is set to fixed funding, and since they've only gathered 2% of the set 1.95M USD in a third of the time, it seems unlikely they'll get anything.
Bump.

I forgot about this console till today and then got curious.

The console was a scam. Whether malicious or caused by ineptitude of the people in charge hard to say.

An article explaining the lies and deception of the team

By the way the mastermind was screwing his friends, I'd say intentional.
