While I end up my night watching the "anniversary" episode on Megaman, it made me curious.....

So:

- When and how did you learn of the existence of the AVGN (formerly the Angry Nintendo Nerd)?

- What's your favorite episode(s)?

- Did you ever tried one of the mentioned game afterwards just to see how bad it is?

1- I don't remember exactly.. I think I found him through one of those portals full of indie clips and animations (before Youtube).
2- it's hard to choose one! The Cd-I, NWC eps were super fun, though.
3- I didn't have a Nes. Probably only Tmnt on C64 and those crappy Tiger handhelds.

It's a relief that they didn't name it AVN.

- I remember binge-watching AVGN on gametrailers, starting with Ghostbusters videos, and fell in love.

- There's too many! But I have soft spot for Doublevision videos, NES accessories, his beatdown with a certain rival and, of course, AVGN Movie.

- A lot, just to make his points justified on a personal level. Some times I'd end up in disagreement.. unless it's an LJN game (that is not a certain good Spider-Man game on SNES) - they were some of the hottest garbage ever.

I also really enjoyed this episode, and appreciated the fact that he didn't shit all over Megaman Legends. Or even "Nostalgia Critic." Now that would be just the dumbest thing ever. /s

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been 10 years of AVGN! Some of my favorite episodes are Power Glove and Ikari Warriors! 'And don't forget about the AVGN's nemesis: The Nostalgia Critic! :P

1) Someone on a gameboard posted his review of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.
2) Probably the one where he reviewed NES hardware addons, when he did that helmet was hilarious.
3) I don't think so, though I have played more of my fair share of bad and frustrating games already.

It's 12 years actually. 10 just since he started posting on Youtube, his first episodes are from before the site was created.

My favorite is maybe the Bible Games 2, the first Bible Games being also the first of episode of his I ever watched, just by clicking a random recommendation from Youtube.

I first saw him on Game Trailers like 8 years ago.

I tried and got spanked by Silver Surfer.

Caught an episode back in 2007 and followed him ever since. While probably not the first person to scream into a microphone about games on Youtube, James was one of the most popular at the time and helped pave the way for a new generation of online entertainment. Some of them like AngryJoe and SpoonyOne are still around to this day.

My favourite episodes are the Bible Games, Battletoads, Powerglove, and SwordQuest. I also love the back and forth rivalry he had with Nostalgia Critic.

1. I learned about it in mention to his review of Zelda 2 (which is one of my favorite games). (Or was it Castlevania 2?)

3. I haven't heard of him reviewing a game I have not played previously, so no. (Well, maybe he did Action 52, but I have not tried that game.)
