The game has Linux and Mac versions. Could you deliver them as strictly unsupported extra downloads?
I second this! I bought it blind from Gog.com just because I already had an GOG.com account. If i knew the linux version wasn't included (yes I know it is stated on the FTL homepage) I would have bought it directly from the developer. =(
I'd appreciate a linux version, too.

But as long as there isn't one on GOG, it works for me with wine, out of the box.
Yes, I was stupid enough to buy it without looking at the platform, seeing on steam that it was for windows AND for mac I thought it would automatically be the same for GOG :s
I don't use either of those OSes but I support this motion.

Pros:
- Can solve some technical issues related to drivers on older graphics cards
- Allows players to run the game in their native OS
- More reason for people to purchase

Cons:
- NONE!
+1

Just saw that there is a Mac version available on Steam, now I try to get the WIndows version from GoG.com to run in Wineskin ;)

Mabye I will ask the developers for a download link tomorrow

EDIT:
FTL works under Mac with Wineskin but you need to install vc2005 for it to work

I would like a Mac version too. I thought it was included. But apparently not... Now I have the game but I cannot play. I can install wine but I think it is technically ugly, so I try to avoid it...
Another +1 here. Would really be great to have the option to get a Mac or Linux version.
This sounds like a good idea to me. I backed the game on kickstarter - so I don't have to worry about this, but I can see this being beneficial for everyone who hasn't. If this works, maybe they can do it for a few other games as well - although I'm not holding my breath. +1

+1 from me

Really disappointed that they are not available as a bonus :/

Maybe I should reconsider my blind gog.com buys - used to be safe ;)
I addressed this issue to GOG support, this is their reply:

Unfortunately we are unable to release Linux versions of our games, so the installer will only work on a Windows system. If you wish to try playing a GOG.com release on Linux, the best workaround (aside from setting up a dual-boot Windows XP system) would be to install and run it through some virtual machine software, though I can't guarantee that these will work. You could check our forums for instructions on running many of our games on non-Windows platforms as well, since manyof our customers are Mac/Linux users.

> Hi. I bought this game. But I found that Mac and Linux version are not provided. Could you provide them so that I can play...?
> Thanks.

So I guess there will not be Linux/Mac version in the near future.

Does anyone know, has GOG told us why they've decided against providing these versions even as unsupported?

My guess is that they don't want to support any platform "partially". I imagine there might be good reasons for that, but I don't know them.

There really should be a Mac/Linux version included. The FTL site (http://www.ftlgame.com/) has the two listed as available options. I love GOG's mission, but I guess I shouldn't have purchased this one from GOG. :(

Or just work out a deal with the devs so we can download the Linux / Mac versions from their site if we have purchased from GOG.com
Its very disappointing if that is really there standpoint on this one. Think ill take my business else where if this is the case. Dont see why its so much hassle to include versions of the game that are already there.
