I have tried launching the game both from the shortcut provided and exe itself, disabled and enabled videos in in, the result is always the same. Blackscreen appears, no alt+tab or Ctrl+alt+del available, had to restart PC every time. Specs: Core i3-4130, 8GB DDR3 RAM , GTX 670 Galaxy, Windows 7 proffesional 64 bit. Any help appreciated.
Likewise,

This is the only game ever that i can't seem to run. After launching it, all i get is the black screen with some weird glitchy artefacts in the upper right corner. (luckily ctr+alt+del works for me and i can kill the process).

Im using Win7 64 bit system.

Hardware : i7 3770 + nVidia GTX 980 (not like it should even matter)

I know I can get a refund, but all I want is to play this game :( Anyone was lucky with running it on win 7/64b?
Same here. I get the animated SSI logo, then a black screen, then crash to desktop. Specs: i54200U @1.60GHz Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Glitchy artefacts? That sounds like a monitor or refresh rate problem.

So what's your specs with that?

Edit: Could be a aspect ratio problem too.

Strange, I ran the game on both 7/64 and 8/64 today with no problems. The one you encounter was common in the CD version, and is easly fixed by disabling video and music in the epic.ini file, but, well- it does decrease the fun.

Still, I don't have that dillema in GOG version.

Sorry, I was not precise enough. Those are not artifacts (my monitor and graphics card are fine with any other game), but the game launching in a very small window in the upper right screen. I can hear the music, the glitched game and the cursor, all shrinked into a 5x5 square.

Disabling video in the config doesn't fix the problem. Any ideas what can help?

Reboot your computer and do nothing else except start the game. Nothing. Just go to that and click start game when you've rebooted..

Doesn't help, I have the same exact results as before.

EDIT : Fixed it. The forced supersampling was an issue. You can switch it off in the nvidia driver menu (DSR).

That's great. :)
My advice wasn't for making it work but for a spot ehere I knew where I had you support wise.
I haven't had a single issue, game works surprisingly well and looks great - hope you all get your issues fixed.
I got mine fixed, it turned out that the antivirus was giving a silent block

I have windows 7 as well. What exactly worked? The intro video freezes for me but the music continues. Ctrl+Alt+Del and then bringing the window back up will advance to the main menu but the image is frozen.

Here is what Genoan sent me when I contacted Technical Support.

"Hello

1) Please make sure that you use "Run as Administrator" to install and to start the game (right click on the shortcut or setup file and select "Run as Administrator").

2) Please update your graphics device drivers:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
3) Please try to start the game with a second display attached or follow this tutorial to create a virtual one:

IT WORKED. Hopefully it helps. And a big thanks to GOG!
Game not working here. I launch it, I have the SSI logo...then comes back to Windows and crashes. Every time. Tried everything I saw around here. I'm on windows 8.1
Well I have Comodo Anntivirus, switched it to "game mode" once, launched the game, worked ok. It learned the pattern so now I don't have to switch to "game mode" anymore. Still getting random crashes though (memory errors, most often when loading the save).
