I still cannot get it to stop crashing at that point and I have tried everything. I just ended up deleting the game because it was too much of a hassle
i´m with the SAME problem. game crashed every time I was trying to enter "RobCo Sales and Service Center". but the game does not reconized my gpu anyway...so the graphics are in the lower option...gtx 1650 mobile...

Have you guys tried to Mod I linked above. it worked for me, and it makes sense since it's a cleanup mode it changes the items in the level so whatever olverload doesn't happen anymore.
Mods and patches do not help to solve the problem. I've tried almost everything. However, I accidentally found a solution that helped in my case. If you add in the Fallout 4.ini file in the [General] section bUseCombinedObjects=0, then the Mechanic's lair can be passed, after that you can delete the line and forget about this quest.

Tried this today, still crashes. I wasn't sure which .ini because I don't have anything just called fallout4.ini, I have defaults and preferences. Put it in both files and it still crashes.

Update: Took a gamble and turned off collision detection. and walked right through the tunnel with no crashes.

tried running the game, mod organizer, and F4SE_loader.exe (as I have a bunch of mods installed) in administrator mode. no luck.

tried lowering all graphics settings to lowest. no luck.

did not try the other methods, but ended up loading the save I made just before entering the RobCo Sales And Service Center. after that, I just made sure to NOT look at those bugged lockers on the left until I was in the security tunnel. once inside that tunnel, the doors closed behind me, and looking in that direction was safe without crashes.

As I'm writing this, I just got past the next M-SAT doorway and paused the game, so there's loads of time for this to be messed up. but I got past that point by simply not looking in the direction of the messed up textures on those lockers. If I don't come back and post again, assume that everything went smoothly for me past this point.

nVidia 2070, Win10, with ~50 mods (a few community fixes, and one that specifically targets graphical textures)

I had this issue as well in my last game, and I made it past the lockers by just not looking at them. But then I died and had to start over (I'm playing survival, perma-death) so when I get there again I plan on trying this fix. But I'm posting just to tell you that the Fallout4.ini file should be, if you just did a default installation, in your Documents/My Games/Fallout4 folder. Also in that folder is a folder called Saves, which is where your save games are (default settings).

In the main directory it has just those ini's you mentioned, which are defaults. The specific ini file the game uses is located in Documents/My Games/Fallout 4/
Oh by the love of god to think this is still a issue luckily it worked for me too not looking at them
Same here. I got game saved just before it crashes.

yep, don't look at the lockers where quantum nuka-cola is. Go quick through lasers with vision towards right. Hide yourself on the small area on your right. Kill few robots and proceed.

I had this problem too and I went to Nexus mods and got the Mechanist Lair revised Mod and it fixed it. Was able to play the whole level freely. If you want you can disable the mod after you beat the level and it all seems to work fine after that.

Which Mod. I used this one and it worked for me, but more options would be good:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23294
i would use unofficial patch, no one with 2 brain-cells wants to use the messed up nexusmods...
you can find FO4 mods to download from other sources like softonic and just need to get script extender from silverlocke (i think) .com...

sadly it is almost impossible to use mods manually with FO4...

i am hoping that GoG includes the unofficial patch or at least the fix with the new 'official patch/update' that is being worked on...

(edit)
this really should have long since been fixed but that is bethesda for you, they really do not give a shit about the customers.
