Thought I'd just post after being stuck on the tutorial for ages. In the tutorial there is a bit where you have to dodge a car by pressing certain keys in time (known as a Quick Time Event or QTE). If you're like me you'll miss that when it talks about "PAR" and key assignments that you don't just have to press one key but two simultaneously. I failed many many times to perform the dodge. This was because I was confused by the instructions thinking that you only had to press left arrow *or* num 4, when in fact you need to press left arrow *and* num 4. Or you hold left mouse button and move the mouse left and hit num 4 at the same time.

On a laptop you may not have access to a number pad - it's probably behind a function key - so you'll need to go to the options and configure your controls to give you an alternate set of keys to use for for the second "PAR" as they are mapped by default to the number pad.

Hope that helps.

THANK YOU. After hearing "how about another try?" for the 20-somethingth time this wasa big help. I think I'm just going to use a gamepad and map it out that way.
Okay, this was really the answer to my question I had in another thread that seems stupid now. I checked many threads but not this one because the title sounded like it didn't address my situation. But it did. Spot on.
I used WASD for the left one and IJKL for the right one. worked beautifully
