The following video demonstrates how sunlight appears and disappears (as visible by how illuminated one big part of a huge asteroid is) - depending on player distance from it. The video demonstrates the bug in all 4 graphical presets, including "Epic".

I understand this is because shadows are calculated only in a certain radius, and it's probably not possible to increase that radius to cover whole map even on Epic preset. But for large immobile objects like such ateroids, big wrecks, space stations, etc - perhaps static, pre-rendered shadow maps or somesuch could be done?
P.S. If this is "Working as Intended" - still, seeing such a dramatic change in illumination for such big objects would surely feel "wrong" to people...
