Why decide to join games in development on GOG?
The EVERSPACE™ Beta is already fully playable, balanced, and generally free of bugs. Over 10,000 players have been enjoying it since ourKickstarter in August 2015 and we believe we got a pretty solid space shooter in place already, but it is still lacking a few elements that we originally envisioned. Now, we would like to give everyone the opportunity to join in and get their hands on the game to help us create the best possible space shooter for you.

Approximately how long will EVERSPACE be in early access?
Featuring the scope that we promised in ourKickstarter, we plan to release the full version some time in Q1 2017. Still, unexpected hurdles might occur during ongoing development or some ideas we had in mind might turn out to be not so good after all making us change the direction, postpone promised features or even drop them entirely.

What do you plan to change during development?

Over the next months, we will gather feedback from our community and work with you to improve EVERSPACE™ wherever reasonable based on the budget and the resources at our disposal. Bear in mind that we are a fairly small team of 12 developers. We have been working together on space shooters for over ten years but major additions like real-time multiplayer simply are out of scope, at least for the time being.

These are the features that we plan to add over the next few months:
* Two additional player ships with different capabilities and starting gear
* Dynamic cockpit displays for all player ships
* A captivating non-linear fully voice-acted story featuring interesting and thoughtfully designed characters
* Hardcore Mode with permadeath for die-hard roguelike fans
* VR-Support for oculus Rift and HTC Vive

What is the current state of your EVERSPACE?
The Early Access version of EVERSPACE™ is based on the Beta which was released on July 29, 2016. Since then, we have fixed most of the bugs reported by our backers, did some tweaks and added a few new features. The most notable changes since Beta are a more challenging boss fight, introduction of some voice-acted events as well as improved overall balancing. You can find the complete changelog on our forums:

Will the price change on release day?

We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.

How can the community participate in the development process?

We have been working closely with our fans since our Kickstarter in August 2015 and we will continue to do so. Just to give you an idea, the Early Access version comes with over 250 new features, tweaks and bug fixes, largely based on community feedback since the initial Alpha release. You can follow the discussions on our forums and we would like to invite you to contribute as well:

The Everspace team plans to have a Linux build available later this month. Will GOG have the Linux build as soon as it's available?

It all depends on when the build is delivered to us and if there are no technical issues preventing its release here :)
Edit: I just learned the hard way, to read before you ask xD.
Thanks for the respons ^^Judaslscariot

So is a Linux version planned for GoG aswell?
I'v heard you are working hard on the mac and linux port, and its expected to be out by the end of september.

So a Linux version on gog would be awesome. ^^

Does it have Freelancer flight controls or is it more like X series?

It has more in common with Freelancer, but you can strafe and turn rapidly like in Descent. It really handles like a 6DOF shooter. Very intuitive and well suited for Mouse & Keyboard IMO.
Is this compatible with HOTAS setups, or other types of joysticks?
Where can I change my Video settings outside the game, because the game crashed when I start it at fullscreen but cant find the config data ?

I recognise your name from the good ol' TLR forums :). This game has an identical mouse flight model to Freelancer with addition of keyboard strafing, including vertical.

short answer,
No.

It is planned... if its a deal breaker for you... might be best to wait a little.
I am hoping for good joystick support in the future, but i'm still enjoying the mouse and keyboard controls... although there are times when dog fighting you are trying to turn sharply and shoot at the same time and the way the crosshair floats fairly close to the edges of the screen can make it difficult to keep the guy your shooting at in your view... not really a problem once you die 20 or so times and start getting access to better weapons earlier in your run.

Wow that's been a long time ago. I've been looking for a FL like game for some time some look close but fall short. So This handles like FL that will be a plus. I wonder if it is mod able? Throw in some more ships to buy and upgrade. etc...

Yeah it has, then The Starport started up but I think it's pretty much dead now too. It was never very clean or structured as nicely as TLR seemed to be, though that could just be looking back fondly with rose-coloured glasses.

This feels very much like Freelancer dogfighting with some of the realistic combat mods where enemies used nanobots and shield batteries. The Outlaws in this game are pretty much Rogues, with not much combat ability but they have raw hull damage and numbers. The Okkar are somewhat like Class 7-10 Outcasts or Corsairs, they hit hard and fly decently. Most of the challenge is here. Then there are the small peak of the Colonials you get if you stay in a system too long. They come along in massive ships and evaporate you. Think of them like the Nomads x2 in terms of strength.

If you're looking for a game similar to FL, some things to note if you're considering this:

- trade is this game is tacked on, the focus of the game is dogfighting combat, so there's no rich economy or 'docking' at individual stations
- thus far there's been no word on it having any form of modding support, but who knows, this may change in time, but currently it's all encrypted and compiled in binaries
- the core gameplay mechanic revolves around choosing when to accept your death and taking it to keep your cash to gain perks for subsequent playthroughs - it's a roguelite, there's not very much punishment to death.
What about the system requirements? Does it require an Core I3 CPU (for SSE4 stuff etc.) or has it just not been tested with anything else? When the system requirements don't explicitly say what about the CPU they require it's hard to judge if I'm going to be able to run this on my Athlon II X3 or not.
Any new information?
Any update?
Can someone confirm that it will be available?
