GOG isn't willing to refund this game.
Which is very strange... I mean GOG is supposed to support this game. My computer have better specs than requirements and the game doesn't run correctly.
I make a request to the support and they can't fix my issue (I fully understand that: they do not code this game).
If it can't be fixed, I want a refund, and the only answer is "wait for the next update".
Well no. I don't want to wait. This release was rushed, it may be the developer's fault, but GOG is the reseller here.
Obviously, the "7 days" delay is over, and yes, I did downloaded the game in order to test it. But hey, without testing it, I wouldn't have seen it wasn't working.
We are in a weird situation here.
I'll keep asking the support team, and I'll see.
Usually, GOG is a very good site to buy games (I own like 180 games here), with the bonus, the price *and* the support team.
I feel let down with this purchase (and I'm still angry with the "continuation" announcement)...

I'm not gonna ask for a refund after all, since I'm quite happy with the frequency of fixes and patches Snowbird is churning out.
But the fact remains that in this particular case not granting refunds is very shortsighted on the part of GOG.

On small thought - i did got refund of my preorder... Managed to ask them before game got released. So im kind of lucky :D
EDITED: i wrote a small letter to giving my concerns on refunding full price! As a preoder cancellation i got full refund. So i got eador:genesis for free. I had to buy the game legit after i got refunds. Maybe thats why they dont want to give refunds! Personally i think they should give smaller refund( -5.99 eador:genesis price).

I bought Genesis beforehand and I'm still playing it. So it's not the issue here.
I just don't understand what's going on here and why the support team doesn't answer emails (they can have lot of work, but still: one answer to say "wait for the update" and the next one to say "the update is here to download" is not satisfying...).

Sadly the main reason I am annoyed with gog on this one is that they charged way to much for a "Remake" when no where on THEIR info did it say it was only a remake. It still does not say that. In fact MotBW's page is almost a complete copy paste of Genesis's with only a few things different. Namely the PRICE lol. Actually NO WHERE on the page does it even mention Genesis except for user revues!!!
I am seriously glad I refused to buy the game from them if this is how they are going to run their business and will have to look very carefully around before I ever make another purchase from them.

So, in short, HoMM IV is awesome and it will never be surpassed by the series - since HoMM V and VI drove it down the toilet.

My stand out favorite is Heroes 3 as it is to many ppl. However I did like elements of 4 however the game was SEVERELY unbalanced for anything other than straight single player play. I liked the Hero in battle and customization but they really screwed up magic users when compared to Might. Especially the fact that a low level Might guy could get complete magic immunity with no way to bypass it for even a high level magic user. Having 5 level of every skill was also just so not good. In order for any of the 5 schools of magic to get access to their top spells your hero would have to be at least level 13 and that is without getting ANYTHING else but skills needed for that so is not always possible. This leaves your Magic user HORRIBLY weak to physical attacks and you could be easily wiped out by a unit of archers if not protected.
By level 13 you could have a Barbarian with Grand Master Combat, Melee and Resistance. This combined with the fact of Potions of Immortality means your solo hero could take out anything quite easily as long as theirs not tons of enemies able to kill you 2 times a turn.
Also the 4 levels of creatures (which I just notice eador kept lol) did not really work with Heroes of M&M, mainly because of the massive imbalance of Vampires and the fact that you could reliably get them on turn 3 usually and then just go nuts unless you ran into big undead or mechanical guards. Combined with the Necromancer who could eventually get GM Necromancy to keep raising on avg 2 more vamps per combat and you soon had a huge army with no need to upkeep or spend money on getting.

That's what is kinda wrong with GOG's service: if you buy a boxed game on a shelf and it doesn't work on your computer, you give it back (maybe you'll have to bring your laptop with you just to show how crappy the software is) and may get a refund (if your dealer is not obsessed with the idea that you copied the game on CD or something else.
On some other digital platform, DRM technology ensure that if the game is deleted from your account, you won't be able to run it again.
The great force of GOG, the no-DRM policy, is also the great flaw in this particular case: I can send videos/screenshots of me deleting the installer and every bonus on my computer, there is no proof that everything is not stored elsewhere (another computer, a NAS, a cloud, etc).
But still, at least, please, give me a straight answer and not "wait for the update" BS...
And once more, as mentioned earlier, there is no mention of remake (sorry, "reboot") on the game's page here on GOG and they advertised a "continuation", not fancy graphics for the same game, which make me very angry.

What bugs me both in HoMM4 and Eador is the random level-up skill choices which sometimes forces you to take skills that don't fit or are too weak. If you really want to do such a random system, then the game MUST be perfectly balanced first. I'm looking at you, Diplomacy and Looting skills (for Scout)!

I also liked Heroes 4, beautiful graphics (best in the whole series I think,3D is crap), incredibly awesome music and interesting new gameplay. The main reason why I did not play it much is that the AI did not want to play with me. Never liked the scripted events campaign mode of Heroes and random maps were pointless with the inactive AI.

Hello,
It is a shame, i can play tw shogun 2 without problems, but not eador motbw.
Power consumption and heat production of my cpu reaches stellar heights after running this software abomination for more then 5 minutes. It is clearly the fault of the product. The first Eador Genesis was not the best optimized game too, but it was running smoothly after 5 minutes internet research and some tweaking (downthrotteling my cpu to 75% performance). This software product is clearly of poor quality.
A faulty product should be taken back by any shop. The advertisment on the shop page never mentions that Eador Motbw is a early access beta version. It does not mention that it is only a hd version of Eador Genesis. False advertising combined with a faulty product = This is on the borderline to fraud.
Have a nice weekend.

I pre-ordered, started into Genesis and tried Masters. Not sure I'm a fan of the new interface, and hindsight (for now) suggests I would have been better just buying Genesis. That doesn't mean that I should be entitled to a refund though. In this case if people thought they were buying something else, I think GOG would be wise to give refunds, but it boggles my mind that anyone really thought this was not a remake. I've never bought a game solely on a store description, but maybe some do.

Sometimes, I just trust me reseller about my purchase. Sometimes, I've more important things to do than browe the web about a game.
My issue is double here: GOG didn't advertise a remake, and I can't get a straight answer from the Support Team.
I don't even really care about the $20.
I just want things to be clear: I feel like I'm facing a big corporation with no respect for their clients...
