I don't have time to read all this and it doesn't even interest me in the end. I didn't buy MoTBW and probably never will, because I doubt it will be ever playable in the next 20 years.

Congratulations to all buyers, though, you all love to waste money. I won't question your wit.
Congratulations to Snowbird, for releasing a game in such a shape and daring it to call it "Eador".
And congratulations to GOG, that cheated all his customers!

What a lovely post.

Are you seriously saying you haven't played the game. Read a bit about it on the forum and actually don't care. Got some funny feeling it will never be playable and because of that you are accuseing the players, Snowbird an GOG.
It appears they will be hot fixing the campaign asap:

I've played the game more and I do think the game was released a bit early,. However, comparing the first modern release from a studio to the Nth from any of the AAA studios it is still better that I expected.
I like the graphics in Genesis and don't see the need to "improve" them by making them 3D. Besides, Genesis starts up in about 1-2 seconds on my computer, and I'd hate to lose that trait.

Not having tried the new game, I don't know whether Gremlion's comments about it are true or not, but he's been an extremely helpful forum member. If he's worried I'm worried, because from my experience he's always known what he was talking about.

I've made some small mods for my own use. Maybe I'll release them here when I finish. I keep adding things as I play.

Normally I have a policy against preorders. However eador gensis was an awesome enough game, and snowbird is a small enough studio, that I felt justified in making this bet. I am willing to risk losing 20$ on MOTBW on the chance that this tiny studio is really just having small studio funding issues and is going to pull through for us.
If things go well I helped finance the finishing of this game.
If things go poorly I was cheated out of 20$ which I can live with

This isn't ubisoft/EA which we KNOW have enough money but simply lacks the will to make complete games.

GOG&Snowbird didn't cheat you because the game isn't complete, they cheated you because they sell it as such. I guess there are alpha games on Desura that are more finished than this. I took part to 2 beta tests, first one was pre-alpha, nothing worked, second one was maybe worse but I played it very little so I can't say much. I didn't want to make bad publicity, because I didn't feel it was fair. But I knew how things were. And now I'm watching.

I think Snowbird was out of money and they tried to make it with pre-orders and now with the unfinished release. I can't see how GOG/Steam and all others are excusable for selling a game in this shape and promoting it too. GOG is showing it isn't different from any others in this. How about being honest from time to time.

Someone high up in the company explained that the reason they rushed the release is because they felt they have to release before HOMM6 standalone expansion, Elemental standalone expension, and the new age of wonders release. Because if they let the others beat them they would lose too many sales

Maybe they're right but it seems to me you would lose more sales and hurt your reputation in the long run by releasing a buggy game. They are patching the game quickly so maybe they thought they could fix it before many people noticed?
