I am having a problem with a missing file (D:\cine13.anm). I can't seem progress in an area in the game because of it. I tried reinstalling the game but this issue persists. I also have a problem with an area in Barovia. One of the homes (the ghost jeweler house) can't run the proper fmv. I plays the company logo and gets stuck on a black screen. This is very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated and I hope this will be fixed by gog in the future (if possible).
This question / problem has been solved by micartuimage
The game is quite buggy. The best version that I'm aware of, is the one from the the Masterpiece Collection, but even that can show some issues some time. For instance with the jeweler's ghost. The best solution for that problem is to not enter his house until you have found the graveyard key. Then, strangely, the animation does work.

In which part of the game does the cine13.anm bug appear? In the caverns beneath the Ivlis?
For this game were created 3 patches: 1.1, 1.2 , 1.2a
The 1.2a is contained in the masterpiece collection. In the past, using my cd box of Ravenloft 1.0 and my 1.2a masterpiece collection i created an universal installer that change 1.0 1.1 and 1.2 to 1.2a
The installer is made by 4 files:

CODE.1 (Md5hash) b6916a96f85c65f318663413ac1269f6
CODE.2 (Md5hash) ef764911c84b9c55bfcee1e5300399fd
INFO.DAT (md5hash) e64b6744671a557bd34f24d122752815
R.EXE (md5hash) 927953b61ef3d7e59cef01085357ecd9

I haven't yet bought the game from gog so i'm curious: please someone could confirm me that gog are using the 1.2a checking the hash i provided?

Yes. It happens in the caverns. I restarted a new game and the same thing happened. Do you know any solution for this issue?
Well... I retried the game for a third time and the same error (cine13.anm) appeared at the same location. Tried reinstalling and I also tried entering the cavern with different party members (with and without the ninja cleric). Anyone that played this and didn't come across this problem I congratulate you. This is a big game breaking bug that new buyers should beware. I remember a couple of years ago I tried this game with dosbox and a similar issue (in the cavern) happened that prevented me from playing. I was playing it on an older pc as well so I don't think it's an issue with any of my rigs.
Yea I am having the same issue with Strahd's Possession, cine13.anm bug in the caverns west of Barovia. Happens near the end of the dungeon.
Could you provide a savegame explaining waht to do to display the bug? I've some idea in mind.
Sorry for the double post but i think that i've understood the real problem.
Gog released the 1.2 version not the rare 1.2a

Like you can see in the screenshots my version is 1.2a and gog one 1.2
I suppose that this error that you are reporting could be related to this fact.

Now two consideration: i've read around that if you have a native 1.2a version from the masterpiece edition, and you patch it by error with patch 1.1 and 1.2 cinematics error will appear (obviously).

Now if someone provide me some saves maybe i could create a patch to fix this mess. Thank you.
Or maybe gog programmers could find a real 1.2a version around the web.

edit:

Ok, i found an iso 1.2a. If someone of gog want to give it a try i can upload it for them.
But for now i'll prepare a installer patch.

1.2A is the Masterpiece Collection, which I do have a copy of. I don't know whether that is of any help, but if GOG would need a specific file, maybe I could provide it (since they seem to have the rights to those games anyway).

Do you have Irmgarde and Vladislav in your party?
Bug fixed i'm uploading the patch on dropbox
Ok here:

Link removed and updated in the last post.

remember:
Make a backup of your gog game directory.

What this patch do: this patch change totally gog ravenloft to 1.2a even the iso file.
File changed:

game.gog
RLOFT\CODE.2
RLOFT\README.TXT
RLOFT\RLOFT.BAT
RLOFT\SOUND.BAT

Make a Backup, give it a try and make me know if it works even for you.

Works now, thanks Micartu and great job!
Thank you. Perfect. Now i can add some adjustement. Now like you will notice the dosbox window doesn't close anymore automatically when you quit the game. It's a mistake by me. I must to add the command "exit" to the end of rloft.bat and sound.bat.
And then the job is done.
Here the job cleaned:

Seriously can't thank you enough for this! This patch job should be uploaded to gog because I expect a lot of people will have this problem. I'm wondering if Stone Prophet has similar issues...
