How do I edit GlobalVariables.kwd?

you need an hexeditor. Hexeditors represent binary files hexadecimal encoded, indicated typically by a trailing 0x.

the offset is the address where you have to change some bytes. For instance, on address 0x2834 you will find value 0x004000000. Change this to 0x401f0000. Save the file. Now you can zoom in more near.

Oh my God... This is too complicated, I can't use the HexEditor. I just can't. Can someone upload an edited GlobalVariables.kwd? Please?

I just cannot find the addresses in my file.
Unless I'm using a wrong hex editor program (HxD to be precise) then I just don't know what to do.

Hello, I'm poking through the HexEditor myself at the moment (and learning about this as I go, never touched this before but semi-fascinated by it) and I can't find hex address 0x2834 / 0x2838 - I have 0x2830 but not the other. Do I just change this?

(Also, probably unrelated, but since trying to run one of my custom singleplayer maps my graphics have gone grainy. Can't work out how to change it and it's just irritating me enough to be a bother, you know?)

EDIT: Nevermind, I worked out the hex stuff :D For Litosns - I'm working on uploading the modified GlobalVariables.kwd, if you still need it? I've tested it on mine and it seems to be fine ^^ Still trying to work on the graphics thing though...

Those addresses are offsets, you don't find them. Use the goto function in your hex editor.

edit: nevermind, I DL'd HxD and figured it out myself. Thanks for all the info provided.

I have downloaded the new exe from the Keeper Klan webside.
I have overwritten the DKII.exe, problem is that it starts with a black screen and crashs.
The game runs only with usual DKII-DX.exe perfectly (without special zoom).
I have overwritten the DKII-DX.exe with the new file too (same name)... doesn't work.

I think a need another patch but there is no link here which works, all files aren't available anymore.

i downloaded HxD , and i cannot figure this out pretty much.
i suspect i have mayb some settings wrong on HxD , i never used a hex editor before.

Can someone guide me on how to do this?
i managed to get DK2 running on 1920x1080 only the view is like ontop of it, way to close imo.

same here, game runs at 1080p but the view is really close.
