I have to disagree with the topic poster, here. I bought this because of nostalgia but once I actually installed and played it...
...I had a blast. I don't care about graphics or other useless bells and whistles. I care about gameplay and Duke has it in spades. I love the level design, the weapons, the enemies, everything. Duke himself is full of personality and he's so unlike heroes in games today that TRY to be cool. Duke doesn't care if you think he's cool. Duke knows he's a badass, he's full of machismo and testosterone.
Playing Duke is like watching Commando. The hero is a one man army spouting off lines so awful that they transcend "bad" and come right back around to "awesome". It's a non-stop killfest that defies logic and is all about the ride - and it's a HELL of a ride.
