I've run into the accessing server issue as well. It typically manifests as I attempt to rest at an inn, at which point the screen fades to black and displays the Dragon's Dogma dark arisen icon in the right hand corner and accessing server icon in the upper right in perpetuity.
Another variation occurs when I happen to complete a conversation when accessing server is in the upper right. This causes the dialogue box to remain along with the server communication icon, again, in perpetuity.
Both of the above events require end task via the task manager to resolve.

I have tried to update/repair my installation several times and I do have cloud saves enabled. If anyone else has additional advice, I could really use it.
I get the same error occasionally too, happens when I rest at an inn (during the load screen), but not when I wake back up with the blue bar afterwards.

Cloud saves on, and launching the game from Galaxy client???

Edit: there was also a patch yesterday. Did you install it?

cloud saves on, launched through galaxy client, and playing version 1.0.0.18 (I assume the patch is applied when you repair installation).

Bummer, not sure what else to try. Seems like setting the game to online, using cloud saves, and launching through Galaxy was the ultimate fix. Maybe email support, they may be able to provide more solutions.
I'm experiencing the same.

After having enabled cloud saves the game does try to connect to servers for a good while when resting but failing ultimately. After 'waking up' the connection (with the purple progress bar) works fine.

Is there a way to check if my main pawn is available to others?

DClements: Have you got cloud saves enabled? If not, that may be the problem. I had them disabled in Galaxy (as it wasn't a feature I thought I'd need/use) and kept getting the message. Once I enabled cloud saves it worked.
Meh, seems pretty lame that you have to enable that to use some basic function. I guess my pawn won't be getting any love then.

Agreed. I am not a fan of cloud saves, in the worst case a corrupt cloud save broke my local working save or reversed my progress so I hate the idea of having it enabled and syncing. I have it enabled currently but I went through all my other installed gog games and made sure to disable it individually in ones that supported it like Witcher 3.

GoG, please make a disabled by default setting that lets me enable it per game rather than the current way, where disabled by default means disabled for all and cannot be enabled per game.
