Solved this problem by using Wined3d for windows (fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag) v2.7, v1.7.52 don't work for me

1.- Download the zip
2.- Extract d3d9.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll in the executable folder
3.- Execute the game

I can confirm that drogaslord's solution worked like a charm for me on Win 10.

Version 3.0 works as well - I am just playing it with this version.
