Thank you. I got Devilutionx working with the exp and health bars enabled, and I'm able to minimize the screen now, though I set it to the original resolution with black borders instead of the widescreen. I feel like the widescreen is a bit unfair and lets you see more than you should be able to.

I think I'm set now, though.
Very good. :-)
What is your opinion on disabling friendly fire?
I'm okay with disabling it for Hellfire, as I'm used to playing with a mod that fixes a lot of issues in Hellfire, including disabling friendly fire.

Personally I think it should remain in Classic Ironman as it presents another challenge for the team to deal with, but desync is also a problem more often than it should be.

I'll let you guys decide on that one.
How do you guys usually communicate for your games? I have a good headset for voice chat if you guys have something you use for it, or if there's a Discord for GOG Diablo or Devilutionx.
We type :-)
Most important announcements are hotkeyed, apart from that we are quite well attuned but may sometimes still indulge in lenghty discussions about a tactical aspect or what we want to leave behind at the end of a level

How about resets? Do you guys start a new game if the first couple of floors arent favorable with books, ID's and Res scrolls, or do you just play every game through no matter how good or bad it is? Either way is okay for me.

Honestly, I only have one stipulation when I'm playing team Ironman, and it's something I've been doing since the days of Plague and Baba. I let the Warr/Rogue do the killing for the overwhelming majority of the game usually, unless the team needs my Firewalls or Lightning for select situations, but I need to have a little fun and release in my game too.

So, when/if we make it to Floor 15, Red Vex and Black Jade are mine for the killing. I have a long list of bones to pick with those two wenches, and they are the only two kills I demand the rights to in any game. It's a simple process, we clear around Lazarus's room, then you guys give me space and I fish them out one by one with Firebolts, then either SC them or line them up behind the nearest shishkabob and roast them with Firewall or Lightning. They have low HP so it doesn't take much mana for me to bring them down, minus a hit or two.

Everything else is for you guys to dispatch, gleaning whatever experience I can, of course, but Vex and Jade are mine and mine alone. It's my one moment of stress relief in an Ironman game.:D

I went ahead and disabled Friendly Fire in my config file and got Hellfire working as well, so if you guys want to try that at some point, I'm game for it.

I think I've got everything working as needed now. Mostly just spending my time brushing up on my Jarulfs Guide knowledge and playing Single Player Ironman with a Sorc trying to derust. Zombies seem to have much better to-hit in Devilution, so it might not be a good idea for me to solo them.

Ideally the best option would be for the Rogue and Mage to hold off on gaining any experience until the Warrior is at least level 8 for King Leoric, so he has the Dex needed to tank him while the other two wear him down, maybe one level for the Rogue if a Long Bow or Hunter's Bow is found.

As long as I find a Heal Other book and a Holy Bolt book (and a Healing book for self sufficiency, especially if Mana Shield doesn't appear at some point), I can do my job at Level 1 for quite a while, and it won't be hard for us to catch up in the Catacombs, especially if we find Firewall.

I'm really looking forward to our first game. Haven't done this for a while, so I'm excited to get back into the swing.

zombie's hit chance is the same as vanilla, we don't change such things, the only thing we've fixed was the wraparound bug that caused monsters on higher difficulties to have lower values than they should have

Seemed like they were hitting me a lot more often in Devilutionx Classic than they were in vanilla Classic. I only noticed zombies having that high of a to-hit in Hellfire before.
Well, I have no idea where this stems from, but you can have your privacy with the ladies, we don't mind.
Resets are for girls, we generally continue and find the goodies later, or maybe not. :-P
However, since you are more dependent on finding the right spell books, I think a reset is not inconceivable if we have a really bad start.
Your game setup looks fine as it is; concerning choice of characters I do currently lean towards Monk (70%; doesn't need weapon anyway and besides there are oils for repairs) :-) and I'll ask my partner what he is up to this time.

It's interesting to see a different approach on your side. We usually try to share exp from the very start and I don't remember we had any trouble with Leoric lately even as a duo.
Anyway, we'll find a way to go together well, just be a bit forgiving as we are not used to play as a trio and with a sorc. :-)
Hope we don't have that much lag then.

are you saying zombies' hit chance changed between vanilla and hellfire? if yes, maybe we overwrote the data with hellfire one

That is certainly possible, though I cannot find anything on Jarulfs guide regarding this. I'm just recording my experience.

would be much easier to chat and test stuff on discord :p why don't you join the devilution one? :D
I didn't know there was one. Maybe I'll look at it Monday after our first game. I work on the weekends so I won't have time to play until then.

Why, both in Diablo and Hellfire the zombies have a 10% tohit, there is no difference. In devilutionx, I just found "0A 00 08 02 05" at the respective position, which should translate to 10% tohit, 2-5 dmg. So, the code is obviously identical.
