eriedlinger: I was able to get Deadlock 2 working on Windows 10 using DxWnd. The same thing should allow it to work on Windows 8.1 also. Check out this thread:

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I never bought the game on GOG because of the compatibility issues but I have a CD copy lying around that I can test this on.
