Ok, the update to 2.0.36.2 BETA has arrived on my side. Looks like it work´s now.

you can force the updates? Speaking of, any solution yet for updates failing?
Or at least a hint WHY the process just "shuts down" at 6 - 10% ?

I did nothing.
The "update is ready" popup appears after some hours without interactions with the gog client.
Also the changelog told me that the update was released on 23th december 2020.
No idea why it took so long for installation. I have the client running every day.

That's really weird how we can't manually check for an update ourselves. I've been stuck on 2.0.35.19 for awhile and the update won't pop for me. No overlay is really disappointing.
