I only finished the main story in cyberpunk I did a couple of side missions but thats it. I mean whats the point there is no endgame content and the enemies are very easy on normal but of course boring bullet sponges on hard. I do not understand why gamers take the completionist approach to open world sand box games. Side missions are just there to beef up your characters stats to make them strong enough to finish the main campaign and lets face it with retarded AI the main campaign is super easy in cyberpunk.

just do the main campaign and be done with cyberpunk and move onto something else. stop complaining about cyberpunk 2077s endless flaws move onto another game. This logic can be applied to all the other open world games like assasins creed valhala, red dead redemption 2 etc
Depends on the game.

Some side content is better than other side content and some open worlds are better than others.
I guess people are different. For me it's the opposite. Why would you buy an open world game if all you care about is the linear story? Just buy a linear game and play that. Uncharted, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, classic Assassin's Creeds, Last of Us, Batman Arkham Asylum, Bioshock, anything from Dontnod. There are plenty of games if all you care about is the story.

For me, in open world games, the actual story is just one distraction out of many. I travel around. I look at things, not even quest related. I try different things. Then I might do a side quest or two. Then explore more. And after 50 hours I might take a look at the main questline. And then I abandon it again and go hunting/fishing/trying that really big jump I saw right over there.

An open world is a playground. The story is just a nice bonus.

Alduin can wait.
Yeah, I don't think CyberPunk 2077 is a good "open world" game. It's a decent game and the open world looks nice, but the story pushes you to focus on it because of the ticking clock element of the plot and once the story is done, you have to reload a previous save in order to continue to explore, which feels extremely artificial.

The story in CP2077 doesn't belong in an open world game. It just doesn't fit the format and it doesn't even make sense in it's own world. How can I have 2 weeks to live yet I can leave Vik's clinic after my diagnosis and spend in game months just wandering around doing whatever I want and not die?
In story missions you start to deteriorate and your vision blurs and you throw up and/or fall down and it starts to happen more and more often, yet you can go off at any point during the story to do side content and this never happens again until you re-engage with the story.
The game feels like two different game that have been stitched together and they just don't fit. The story belongs in a linear shooter and the open world needs an open ended plot that is coherent within the games own structure.

This stuff bothers me way more than the bugs and glitches.

I don't have a problem with loads of Ubisoft-esque collectibles in open world games as long as there is still a lot of great story content, side activities and distractions to enjoy. Thankfully, for me, Cyberpunk scratched nearly every itch I have when it comes to open world games. I would have liked to have had more interaction with random NPCs a la RDR2 but that's a pretty minor complaint overall.
Open world games, to me, is about exploring. If i could just console out the main quest (all quests) i would be completely happy with it.

once i opened up the full map, I spent 15+ hours walking, driving, swimming the map board. Lots of interesting and fun things to see. Even a few easter egg type things i am certain were/are scheduled for DLC. The Cyber-encabulator device was one of them.

I realized early on, if you don't meet with Jackie at the little food stand, you can do a lot without Johnny interruptions. Using the Smuggle mod, you can open up the map.
I mean, I want to see the world that's been crafted for me to explore, within reason.

If the game world is unnecessarily large for the sake of padding gameplay hours, I usually either refund or give up on it.

Case in Point: AC Valhalla. After I realized most of it would be filler, I gave up on it. Odyssey and Origins are superior, if inferior graphically.

I agree. To me, it's about exploring and living in the game world, especially if it's an open world RPG like this.
I got this on a PS4 slim and I would like the game not to look like it's falling apart at the seams. I have tons of hours invested because of the world and original content, but the game is a technical nightmare. I don't think I have ever played a game on console that was this janky and busted from a development standpoint. How is it possible to do worse than the people that made that "rim" game? It has to be embarrassing.

When I drive whole sections of the city don't load properly. After the patch Jackie's mom's bar is one big bright white light, I can't even see the bar. Stuff like this would be my main complaint.

Of course, if they had sold and advertised it for "next gen. hardware", I wouldn't have a complaint, but since they advertised this almost 6 years ago for base consoles, one would think they would have done something to make it a bit better upon release. It has been almost 8 months from release and we get is a warning at the PSN store.

The boss guy of this company asked us to stick around and wait for the game to be better...waiting

All games on Console are Janky and Busted it's just covered up a bit better.

I think that's the problem. They made promises 6 years ago and they have contractual obligation to keep those promises. But along the way the game grew bigger and bigger and got newer tech, and now the previous gen consoles are just way too outdated and there is no way to fix that since the hardware cannot be changed.

The game needs to be downgraded a lot to make it work on PS4 slim, if such downgrades are even possible.

It might be they have managed to trap themselves. Contracts say previous gen consoles must work but that is not technically possible. Might be they are screwed no matter what. Better code won't upgrade the hardware.

Anyway, good luck and I hope I am wrong.

This is some inane reasoning. If it's covered up better that means it works better within that specific space, which means other games work better than this one.

The issues is knowingly growing the game beyond their actual space without telling anyone. I think the boss guy admitted to this after the fact. But this is not our problem. They offered refunds but then promise they were going to fix the game.

And yeah, It's a bit obvious they can't code a console into the next gen. I am not a professional but they seem to have a hard time coding in the console space. I think they might have been way out of their element on this one.

Thanks though and I hope you are wrong too, because I love the game underneath the technical Quasimodo. lol

Technical Quasimodo. Lol. That's my new go-to for games that crap themselves on release, hope you don't mind if I borrow it. ;)
Main story in this game is too short, and IMO underwhelming and forgettable. Most open world games I prefer the side content. Been playing AC Odessy and I've done maybe 3 main story missions, otherwise I've leveled up 16 or 17 times from strictly side content and have sunk probably 20 or the 23 hours I have in that game in just side content.
