Double tap to dodge ? C'mon this is terrible. Will we have an option to change that ?
Why wouldn't you have?

The Unreal Tournament games had Double-tap for dodging. I don't see an issue with that except for the possible lack of a 'Walk" function.
Will reserve judgement until I actually had a go at the controls myself.
Who knows, maybe it's not that bad and actually serviceable?

The option to turn that off/rebind it to something different (like a dedicated dodge key) should be possible though.

I hope it will be.
hope there is a keybind option for it....i mean i didn't start PC gaming to deal with limitations of a controller...i have more than double the amount of keys on my mouse alone than a controller lol...HEY GAME DEVS!!! GAMING PERIPHERALS HAVE EXISTED FOR A LOOOONG TIME NOW! *scrunch nose eyes closed tongue out*
In a year...Wouldn't be surprised if they have an Enhanced Patch for this game, just like they did for Witcher.
Besides the fugly blurry text(ures) with DLSS (without which even on 1080p it's slo-mo city with RT on), this is my biggest problem with the game...

No walk button and (for me directly because of that) constantly dodging into things on accident. Dodging into NPCs making them all cower, dodging into stealth targets, dodging into random scenery I just want to look at closer... this is really getting annoying.

Unreal tournament doesn't have stealth and cover system, and that's where accidental dodges may clash and spoil the game situation. In a melee combat double tab is fine, but elsewhere it doesn't help. I'd suggest to share dodge with sprint button - you cant sprint backwards and sideways, so dodge on sprint tap + direction key would be totally fine. Also sprint could be triggered with holding dodge key. Dark Souls series has the same system and it works absolutely fine.
Yeah, this "double tap to dodge" on PC is... dodgy at best. ;)

In UT you can tweak how fast the double-tap needs to be to be registered as a dodge, which is missing from CP2077. But even if it wasn't it still clashes with other mechanics - notably walking (or lack of thereof) and crouching.
I, for one, welcome the inclusion of dodge double tap.
Greetings, I have also the same issue with "dodge" feature as I would like to at least setup a time for how fast you have to double click the button. I don't like it as it is right now and I would welcome to have more control to this feature. Even a possibility to turn it off completely.
The double-tap dodge has gotten me killed more than anything else.

Tie it to a modifier or at the very least don't make me dodge around when I don't have my gun out. Inching up behind someone or making small adjustmentswhen on a ledge is made needlessly difficult by the dodge.

With double tap i can only dodge to the right side, idk why plus idk how long my keyboard can handle this.
this is kinda annoying without posting links, but i will try.

1. go to "J:\Cyberpunk 2077\r6\config" (where you installed the game)
2. make a backup of "inputContexts" and "inputUserMappings"
3. now open up "inputContexts" (you can search with "ctrl + F")

4. find <action name="DodgeForward" (image1)
5. put <!-- and --> on the sides of things you want to disable (image2)
6. find <!-- MULTITAP ACTIONS --> and change action="Dodge" count="2" to action="Dodge" count="1" see image4

7. open "inputUserMappings" and find "Controller specific dodge" and again put <!-- and --> on the sides like in image3
8. change button id to <button id="IK_Mouse4" /> like in image3 (remember to save)

this will disable the double tap dodge and put dodge on mousebutton 4, and you will no longer dodge with crouch + a direction.

edit: i forgot to add step 6
