Look, I get it. I waited for this game too. I wanted this game when games couldn't be this and when I loaded in on day 1 even in it's buggy mess It was still pretty damn amazing. It was beautiful.

It was also an empty promise. Not as bad as Anthem but at least as bad as No Mans Sky or Destiny 1. Worse, since CDPR traded on their reputation, hid the problems, lied about crunch and NDA'd reviewers from discussing the problems before launch.

...and then you get to the part where they just flat out lied about how CP77 could run on old gen consoles. Look, I "PC Game"(TM), I thought that was a crazy idea too. Those old consoles are relics of a meh generation. But CDPR said they could do it and "it's CDPR, we can trust them", so we all shrugged and said ok buddy.

Yeah it runs badly, yeah the AI is a joke, yeah the customization and origins mean nothing. Yeah, there are plenty of other issues, but bottom line? Cyberpunk 2077 isn't what CDPR said it was.

In my book that's not fixed with a patch, it's fixed with a refund.

Lol not really? The game is good for what it is, I came expecting a good story with some shooting mechanics and I got it. After 50h of gameplay I can say it was worth the purchuse . The only thing they did wrong is rease it for old consoles should have jsut did a PC release first and waited half a year. GTA 5 did that with the PC version...
You were able to watch the gameplay etc.

I've already fought corrupt cops, banged the head of a security company, Been running around beating people unconscious with a Vibrating Phallus is hilarious.

Kidnapped some people
Assassinated some people
Fully decked out armour

Set people on fire

Ran over a kid

IDK the stuff you can do in this is pretty good.
You, and a lot of other people on this forum, needed to temper your expectations of this game. You can only blame yourself for riding full speed on the hype train.

+1 to that.

I wish devs stopped chasing old consoles, when I see them mention, ohh and will play good on old consoles, I instantly reduce my expectations, just knowing that means the game is going to be crappier than it should have been given it can run on out of date hardware.
I'm ticked off about the silly censorship, but other than that, I'm having the time of my life. This game is fun as hell. I don't know what people were expecting, but I have been waiting for this game for years and other than the censorship issue, I have not been disappointed.

We were expecting them to deliver what they advertised.

Yes, I don't understand this pushback blaming gamers for unrealistic expectations. If you were promised the next gen electric car that would break the world speed record and drive autonomously and then you took delivery of a hybrid family van with adaptive cruise control - would you be happy? Must you adjust your expectations?

This.
It's not a bad game and I have no intention of refunding it, but it's not the game we were promised.
My expectations weren't even that high. I've been gaming for over 30 years and I know better than to give in to the hype. What I expected was nothing less than Witcher 3 in terms of quests and story choices and that's where the game falls flat on its face for me.

Yeah, because there are no actual issues with this game. The ONLY thing wrong with it is the unrealistic expectation.
The game is fine for me. I love playing it.

I guess I just didn't pay as much attention to the hype as others did.
As what happened to NMS, the developers drove the hype-train, not gamers. Blaming gamers is like blaming car-owners for what the car maker did...

"Stop expecting the car to work and function, you idiot". "The AC don't work you say? Shut up and be glad the car work, you fool" :D

Yeah, when we have gotten to the point where we accept mediocre products that's when there's something wrong with the world.

That's not the problem. The product they delivered wasn't a AAA product, not by a long shot.

The list of why this is a mediocre product for almost 70 euro is long.
Cyberpunk 2077s Problems Go Much Deeper Than Bugs

I watched all of the early released footage and trailers by CDPR and a bit of some of the early released gameplay the couple weeks before release.
and the game is EXACTLY what it looked to be and exactly what I expected. it takes some of the mechanics from some of my favorite games, added a larger world to implement it in, and added a ton of live circumstances to walk or ride into.
has tons of awesome story-lined quests, tons of quick side quests, and tons of goofy instances that occur to add a bit of humor.
has a beautiful world with many square miles to traverse, tons to explore and look at, and some of the most detailed NPCs ever.
has tons of awesome gear to find, purchase, and craft.

the only people complaining about what the game has to offer vs what they expected are people who really are disillusioned way to easily.
you all know, or should know, what is possible in a modern game engine. hopefully have played a few different types of modern AAA releases and have realized what is also possible with gameplay mechanics.
for you to expect CDPR to magically surpass all of those things and create some type of super magical future-platform game is just ridiculous on your own parts.

Why's nobody complaining about EA and their crazy Cinematic videos, Because EA mods delete any complaints about a product.
