TheDogCatcher: I have found one very annoying issue with 2.0 which is probably related to the controller issue, the toggle crouch function doesn't work - it doesn't matter which key I bind it to , holding a key to crouch still works but I find constantly having to hold the key down awkward, I much prefer the toggle.

I wonder if there are any other controls that don't work ( I haven't had a chance to test everything yet).

ast486: I got it working and yup, I have the same problem.
it's super annoying!

I'm used to sneaking up to groups of enemies, quickhacking them, then finishing them off with guns..... can't even do that now do the everyone-is-using-an-xbox-controller bug! :-(

slayerking: Yep, I noticed that and things like when a job comes up it says press z to track job, Press z and it does nothing, there were a couple more too but they have slipped my mind.

ast486: Wow I'm not even getting that!
it shows the Xbox controller buttons for me instead.
avatar
TheDogCatcher: Just a thought, is there a setting in one of the config files we can edit to fix the controller issue ?
avatar
ast486: that would be great to know!
Maybe make a new thread on that subject, since this is the linux thread.
Check this post. This is the only thing that worked for me.

I read the stuff in the steam forum thread and did NOT want to do hex editing or anything like that.

There IS a fix there much later in the thread about just eiditing the controls.xml file and that fixed both my no-crouch and no-dodge issue.

Game still shows xbox controller buttons on the ui, but I can mostly remember the pc ones anyway.

The echo fix makes everything as it should be and it's very easy to do,

First make a backup copy of your Cyberpunk2077.exe just incase something goes wrong.

Then all you need to do is open a terminal and cd to the directory where the Cyberpunk2077.exe is located and enter the following command "echo '2C45C6: EB' | xxd -r - Cyberpunk2077.exe"

job done !

Yes, it still crashes. Even with Phantom Liberty.
I know that at some point it is self inflicted (why do I ise linux? Why do I have an nvidia card?) .
But at the same time come on man.

Version 2.0 is running flawlessly for me on Linux with a Nvidia GPU, apparently there were some crashes introduced with the PL update that can be fixed by deleting or renaming GameServicesGOG.dll and Galaxy64.dll in bin/x64 as mentioned in this thread :

I can't confirm this for myself though as I don't own PL.

That doesn't really provide much info.
Are you running it via Lutris, something else?
Maybe some of the suggestions above can help you.

Works great for me... I just hate 2.0's perk abilities. :-(

All I can say is that the game executable itself is not modified at all by the PL expansion. I am using the same hex-patched 2.0 (for kb input fix) working fine with PL, no crashes so far. the only thing I cannot run is ray reconstruction from DLSS 3.5
I am not using galaxy, and the game is denied network access.

Well after the latest update (2.02) it's freezing again for me using Gog galaxy in Arch. Start the game and it starts freezing during the start up screens they go all out of sync and running the game every 10-30 seconds it will freeze for a second then be normal again then rinse and repeat with the freezes. Through Heroic launcher it's perfect though.
6 weeks on since the last post, my personal progress update.

Despite trying a number of NV driver builds, I couldn't get CP2077 2.0+ stable (Kernel 6.2.0-36, Ryzen 3600, 8GB NV 2070S, 32GB RAM, NVME, 1440p display). I played under a Windows dual-boot for a while, because I couldn't get Starfield to play under Linux either. Then two things happened almost at the same time: I got sick of CP and Starfield/NV had patches that made it run under Linux, so I switched back to daily driving Linux (OMG what a relief).

I updated NV drivers to 545.29.02 yesterday (Starfield is still fine) and decided I'd just update CP and see what happened.
CP 2077 2.02 with NV 545.29.02 played for about 40 minutes without lockup, which is good. I had to stop playing to do other things, but it seems some progress has been made. However, the performance was pretty terrible - almost constant hitching and frame drops very much suck the enjoyment out of it.

Anyway, we're not there yet but getting closer?
