Pityesz: I play online with my friends, We connect with external IP, and play when we want. Of course, we prefer Warhammer and Rise and Fall over any other RTS, but sometime we still play on Battle Realms. When we come together it is hard to decide which game we play. For 8 player, the Battle Realms and the Warhammer is the best.

I not think we need to buy a game three times just to enjoy ourselves. I have the GOG edition, and I can connect to others without problem or desync. The DRM free option is just the best thing for any party videogame.
You can quit repeating yourself about GOG being superior over Steam due to DRM- free content. I've understood your opinion since the very first post. :)

As was said in my previous message- playing with friends locally is nothing. compared to online level with other players. I am sure you don't know many hidden features that you may discover in BR.

You think so because you're not a Steam- user. There are many people who used Steam before GOG was even established. And during all those years they've been collecting all the steam goodies. And it's simply easier for them to use Steam over GOG.

Thousands of BR fans are in Steam, not sure how many are here- on GOG. That's why Steam is the highest priority for Liquid.

Yes, DRM- free content is better than any other bound content, but it's not about that now.

I write that to the other guy, who said something about the DRM. XD

As I said, I only play online on Battle Realms. I bored it in singleplayer, and not even interested in LAN play.. This is a game I like, and that is all. It is somehow better when I play with friends, but that would be not enough for 8 player, there are always strangers amongst us. I don't know why you say always this local thing, there are just no time to make a LAN party. It is faster to organize through the net. :)

"Local" doesn't mean LAN. It basically means you and your friends playing in a private lobby, against each other or bots. Not sure how you get strangers amongst you though, if you say you play using "direct ip" (or what do you mean by "external ip?, no idea.) option.

The old way. We ask people about the game when we fiend a video on YouTube, or on forums, and sometime they come to us when they saw our videos or posts. Usually this is just for some matches, and not to make new friends for the games.

Ehhh... alrighty then.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from the content of this thread I am taking away the lesson that the GOG version of Battle Realms is severely gimped compared to the Steam version. Is that not true?

I'm sooooooooo sick of this bull crap where GOG users get shafted with a vastly inferior version of the same game on Steam.

BRJoker: Don't want to sound offensive or aggressive, but you guys don't understand that playing Battle Realms online is what you all should do (not with your friends locally, but online, with other players). And Steam offers a great opportunity to do so. Ed said that Multiplayer will be conencted to Steam- servers thus Steam is the highest priority here.
So then why aren't they offering the Crossplay feature so that GOG users can play together with & have the same great multiplayer experience as Steam users (as opposed to GOG users being stuck with a gimped version)?

There's no steam version as of now. And there were no official comments on the GOG version of the game. There were just mentions of "The game will be out on Steam and GOG". No details about what multiplayer would be like and so on.

The quoted comment that was written by me is basically speculation. I believe whenever it's done, the multiplayer will work on both Steam and GOG, maybe with crossplay even.

There's still a long way till the game comes out.
