I dont´t get it....
We all are here because we don´t like Steam and want our gog like it is and was. So why should anyone here want a key from gog for Steam?
I think the same way as most here and say it with the words of Fakum: you should consider going elsewhere.

Snaddre: Really is that so? Do you guys have a feud with Valve or something?

That was a huge disappointment to me, I've already sent a mail to support but upon reading this post I guess I should not hold my breath. I thought you got a Steam key no matter where you bought the game, it was clearly stated by dev. that you would receive a Steam key on purchase.

I also want to mail the developer for a steam key, but how do I prove that I own the game?

It's really silly not to generate Steam keys. It is drm, but it's also voluntary. Don't have to use Steam only because you got a key.
Steam doesn't generate GOG keys, so why would anyone expect Steam keys from GOG? Does that make it silly for Steam also?

unexpectedgreg: Where is my Steam key? I was told by the creator of the game that we'd be getting Steam keys or did I miss something?
I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on the game card "comes with Steam key." Not on this game, or any other on GOG. Perhaps it would've been a good idea to drop a question to verify information on the forum before buying instead of making assumptions.

There are enough Steam key resellers. I like my GOG DRM-free, and Steam-free. Take it up with the dev.

Steamworks offers re-sellers to provide steamkeys to their customers as a free service. Steam as a platform profits on this through customers using their platform when playing games instead of their competitors. The issue with keys is not one of costs of operation, but rather one of service.

GoG does not want to generate Steam-keys for their users because they don't want customers to use another platform. GoG might be earning some money on having customers log-in to their site and redownload every single time there is a new version up. Thus being exposed to the GoG store-front-page. The excuse from support was that Steam is DRM, and GoG is taking a non-DRM approach to everything. I'd go for the first explanation any-day.

You like your GoG DRM-free and Steam-free, but all users do not. We are here for the selection, and we may or may not be a majority. Those of us whom humbly asked for a Steam key where denied this service despite seeing it from other resellers. I have yet to purchase another from GoG after this treatment.

GOG does not have Steam keys.. GOG does not have a Steam key generator.. GOG does not have access to Steam keys...

Steam is DRM, GOG is 100% DRM-Free!

edit: IF they had a steam key, i'm sure they would give it to you - they are good people, really! - but they don't have any..

I believe there is a fee which is why other game bundles require a minimum of $1 or $2 dollars for Steam Keys. As other have mentioned these are 2 competing services. I purchase 99% of my game on GoG because it lacks DRM and I know that 10 years from now I can play it on whatever emulator is available. If you don't think 10 - 20 years from now you
