Do you set your own game over conditions?

I have a few.

Failed pickpocket: ranger/paladin/good aligned priests - Game over so I reload. I have permanently damaged my organization's reputation and I have to spend the rest of my days in prison.

Here's how I play out other alignments/classes with failed pickpocket:

other non evil - Non lethal combat
evil - Take out the aggressor

I turned off "rest until healed" so I reload if my party's too beat up and I get ambushed when resting. My party surrenders.

If I'm in a dungeon or someplace else and a party member dies, whether or not I reload is based on if I think I can keep going without the fallen member. Not necessarily if the loss is inconvenient. I also do this when my party starts dropping like flies.

I'm sure a lot of you have your own game over conditions and I'm definitely eager to hear them!

Regards

Jason

1. If some party member dies.
2. If some piece of equipment breaks.
3. If I get permanent decrease in some stat.

This doesn't go just for BG but for all CRPGs.
It entirely depends on what you mean by 'game over'. From what I am reading, it seems you really mean 'reload'. Game over means the game is scrapped, and you start again, from the beginning. The only conditions I have for 'game over' is
BG1 -- if Imoen, Jaheira or Minsc get chunked
BG2 -- if Imoen gets chunked
Those reasons are purely for canon story purposes.
I only reload a save slot if:

All party members are cut down abruptly. Not much of a choice here.

--- or ---

Main character is cut down. Again, not much of a choice in this case if I wanna continue the journey.

Any other circumstance, I can accept everything the game throws at me.
