Across all three games, which do you prefer?
In BG1 I find that grandmastery is incredibly powerful. You can cut down almost anything in one hit. In Bg2 & ToB it looks like spreading out your weapon proficiencies would be better, since there are more monsters; meaning you'll have to put more consideration into whether to use blunt, piercing, or slashing weapons. I'm not saying that kind of strategy doesn't exist in BG1 - it's just more prominent in BG2 + ToB.
Like I mentioned above, BG2 & ToB have more monster types, but in addition to that there are more weapons, weapon types (like ninjatas and katanas), and different kinds of effects and enchantments.
