429 days later (no regen ring) , I still haven't left Amn. I am beginning to think it might not actually be possible as the quest runners for Trademeet etc haven't appeared.
Level 11/11 ilusionist thief - level 12 wizard XP requirements are INSANE.
Anyway, i'm taking the literal approach - if I see it and I can kill it without locking the game, it dies if I can kill it in time- but i'm not going to go hunting. Waiting to be able to cast Hakaeshar before I take on Ribald and chums.
Targets I couldn't kill:
- DoI
Imoen
Aataqaah
jailkeep golem
Air Plane Genie - Cannot harm
- Graveyard
Uncle Lester - ran away
- City Gate
Hanj -ran away
Areas wiped:
Government District - council chambers was pretty fun
Temple District
City Gates
Waukeens Promenade (outer)
Graveyard (outer)
Circus
I completely looted the bookseller at the top of the promenade and gained I think 1.5 levels from his scrolls. That he has a scroll case was a lovely extra as my inventory is loaded. The City Gate merchant was an Urdlen-send as well as he carried a stack of game saving scrolls.
Unfortunately I erased Improved Invis and failed to relearn it so i've been praying for another one in random drops.
The game really picks up the pace when you just leave swords, shields, armour, all kinds of stuff that'd get sold :D
For my purposes, cloudkill is Superb. Celestial Fury is silly silly fun to backstab.
day 3 of play and 6k~ gold. Starting on the docks.
----
7 more days of play over 3~ months and I give up.
It's simply put, not that fun as i'm literally cloudkill casting everything to death, retreating, resting, repeat. The entire thing is metagame driven, lonely and a slog so I quit after the underdark and gassing Drizzt and friends ( an ordeal that took 2 hours).
The major issue on it is that by killing everybody on sight, I could only get through the city of Athkatla, which significantly for my build meant there is/was no way to get Mislead in Trademeet; the game breaker spell for an illusionist/thief. Also I never managed to get past lvl 7 magic xp wise.
As the cult of the unseeing eye requires a quest given before you can walk through the invisible door, I was also unable to get the third part for the ring of Gaxx which would have been really helpful, and was never at any point capable of getting the twisted rune even attempted.
Toned down to a "everyone must die *eventually*" instead of on sight would have been a better experience I think. If anyone comes across this; read the original statement - don't do it, at least not the way I did it.
