Hi,
When trying to update the game today on GOG Galaxy, the download freezes ad 90.8 % then no network activity is detected by Windows.
This question / problem has been solved by WolfEisbergimage
Yep, same for me. No matter what I do - deleting the state files or straight-up copying and pasting the downloaded patch files to the game, nothing seems to work.

GOG Galaxy has been nothing but perfect for me all these years, but I'm seriously starting to think I should have gone with Steam instead for this game.
Same thing happened to me with the latest patch. I tried to use the fix that worked for those who downloaded the entire game and had this problem. I closed GOG, renamed a .download file to .pak, restarted GOG and the patch initiated and finished. Now, the game loader will open but BG3 crashes as soon as I start the game. Guess I am expected to redownload this 100+ gig install? sht

For me its stuck at 91.4% when updating or verifying files. I was also having a lot of trouble when installing, I bought because it was cheaper than Steam, but this isnt good service at all, Im quite disappointed that Galaxy still has these issues so late in the game.

Here is the solution:

completely exit out of GOG Galaxy, so that it is not even running at all.

Go to BG3's install folder

Go to !temp folder

Go to data folder

Delete the word ".download" from "Game.pak.download" in the data folder
Delete "Game.pak.state" in the data folder

start up GOG Galaxy again, and it should complete the install

Hey, I did this already. My game files are now corrupted.

You did it in the temp folder, right? Because any changes in the temp folder won't be applied to the game until its complete in the temp folder, which it won't ever complete until you do the steps I outlined.

Yes I was in the temp folder. It was the only location that a .download file was found. I followed the same steps as found in the other thread, the same steps that you mentioned. I guess I'm just unlucky?

Thank you ! It worked.
I don't know who marked it as solved, but how is "pulling potentially broken partial file from temp and acting as if nothing happened" an actual solution. People should be rioting and refunding Tha game on gog on the base of how unprofessional this situation is
I marked it as solved to help people who might have the same problem. I hope GOG are working on a serious solution.
You can't just say that or cdp will assume this is an acceptable solution to the problem, like they already did acknowledging it in their knowledge base article.
And it doesn't work, at least for me
