ussnorway: The 11gig patch is Steam... The lazy fucks just copy / paste patch notes to gog as part of their phone it in effort ... Best results = reinstall the game fresh as the 5g extra download is worth less stress
Yes, I read it first in the Stream instructions, but I actually saw the 11.6 GB number show up initially when I first tried to install patch 7 under Galaxy on the downloads page--yes, and then that update failed...;) (Was Galaxy trying to install the 11.6GB Steam patch on top of the last Galaxy update of the game? That would be enough to cause it to fail, I'll bet...;)) Anyway, when I uninstalled the game completely after that and then used Galaxy to download the entire game again, it all went fine with the Mod Manager installed in the deal. One of the joys of having Internet access at ~50 MB/ps is that reinstalling a 125GB game from scratch is not the ordeal it used to be...;) What a luxury, being able to do that!

BTW, I'm not that impressed with the Mod Manager so far. We'll see...
I have a Galaxy "update failed" message saying this update needs 142 GB temporary disk space.
The patch is as big as the whole game ?

Edit . Solved by uninstalling and reinstalling...honnestly this should not be like that, I don't know what they messed up

yes Galaxy tried to give you the wrong patch... they sorted that out but it does just go to show how much effort was made

p.s, if you still have not reinstalled after loading that first/ wrong patch then a verify may be your best option

Well, I have no choice but to download the full game again.

My harddisk is very much at its limits, and the patch demands terabytes of free disk space.

Also if I download the full game ... I can delete the previous versions.

Either way as I said I wont play this version, I will wait until I've finished my current game as High Half-Elf Storm Sorcerer, pure class.

I have about 2.6 Mb/s here. What can I say. My country has awful internet, reportedly worse than in some developing countries, and I'm cheap and didnt want to pay for internet speed that I frankly dont need. So a download of a new version of BG takes like half a day or some such.

Its fine. If I was in a hurry I would be using Steam, too, probably.
What version is Patch 7? I just bought and downloaded BG3 today for MacOS through GOG Galaxy and it installed version 4.1.1.5022896. That appears to be hotfix #25 not Patch 7 and the same version as what's available in the offline installer.

As such it doesn't appear that Patch 7 is available for Macs.

Larian has stated that the patch for Macs is coming later.

I just finished the download, and I have version 4.1.1.5849914. I'm on Windows though.
Anyone in the know if there will be an offline installer to patch the game from patch 6 hotfix 9 to patch 7?
Or do I have to download the entire game once more and reinstall everything?

It will be available later on as the previous ones. A few more days of patience will be needed though me thinks. I hope for tomorrow but expect a bigger delay.

If GoG does release a patch 6 to 7 upgrade patch, based on history, the patch will require too much FREE SPACE to install, unless you got a lot of FREE SPACE.

If you re-install the game, at most the required FREE SPACE will be 130GB. However if you decide to use the upgrade patch, I would wait a day after to see what the actual FREE SPACE is. This way, if you have limited/metered internet, you aren't wasting your time downloading files.
OK, thanks both. :-)
Patch 7 is out. It's full download only though so it's a 135 GB download.

Edit:

After downloading all 135 GB, I'm getting an E4 trying to install the update. I have it installed on an external SSD drive on my Mac (Sequoia). I can see the downloaded update so I don't know why it's not installing.

Thanks for the notice, but alas, it's not a patch for an existing installation, but only the full offline installer.

edit: Or do you mean the file patch_baldurs_gate_3_Live_-_v4.1.1.5932596_(76418)_to_Release_-_v4.1.1.5970269_-_Patch_Patch7_Hotfix2_(76603) ? That's only 79 MB, but will it upgrade version 6 to 7? I dare not try it because I have a running version 6 multiplayer game with some friends.

There are no offline installers for Mac.

The offline installer from GoG is Windows only.

If you have a Mac, you have to use Galaxy to install programs.

external drives are only for storage... that will be why your install errors out

are you using a web browser to grab the offline files... need to change the tag from windows to Mac then close and reopen it to see the Mac patch7 downloads
