@ JaarknsteinNew Based on the last livestream they did it looked like the game, even on Windows, still experienced some overall jank. So it might be possible that the Mac version in it's final form performed so bad, that they couldn't bear to release it yet.

It would be nice if they at least gave us a little update on a possible timespan tho.

Clownski_: Unfortunately the full release is not available for MacOS at this moment.

tfraley: How is this not on any sites, You have people sitting here for an hour trying to get the game.

Thats ridiculous.

Has Larian not released it yet or is it GOG.com that is just not ready for it.
Is it on steam?

Is it being released with PS5 version.
I don't understand how they can give a date and tell you PS5 is not out till a date but not say anything about Mac's
Larian haven't released the MacOS version yet, it's not finished. Direct Larian communications have been clear on that through their communications but you do get access to either platform when it is ready through GOG. (Steam also do this). Larian have yet to release a date for MacOS as far as I know.
I'll end my rant with the following and go back to work.

The ongoing frustration and disappointment arise from the fact that I put my support behind a product, wholeheartedly believing in its potential, only to witness a series of missteps in resource management. The evident mishandling of resources has led to undesirable outcomes, leaving me feeling let down and questioning the decisions made by the development team. As a backer, I had high hopes for a well-executed project, but it now feels disheartening to see that my trust may not have been given the consideration it deserved. Transparency and accountability in resource allocation are crucial to ensuring the best possible outcomes for everyone involved. I hope that future developments will reflect a more equitable and responsible approach, where all backers are treated with fairness and their support is valued appropriately.
I agree haha. For all the delays on Mac and Linux versions on all my years on GOG (and other platforms) we should get a 20% discount for all the wasted time in hopeful waiting hahaha. Just poking some fun.
This lake of clear communication about Mac version is so unprofessional. I'm sad. I'm a huge supporter of both gog and larian but fuc' them on this.

Larian have communicated this through multiple channels, the original release date was much later, and it was part of that announcement to move release forward that the MacOS version didn't yet have a date, along with the XBox version. The GOG Store page currently shows Baldur's Gate 3 as Windows only. What exactly are you asking for?
Mac and Xbox aren't the same story. Xbox is totally absent and is just a future-option. Mac is something they already have proven to release multiple times before. And in their February post for the original August 31 release they clearly stated Mac. So it's not very stupid to assume that the changed date included Mac. We shouldn't start to turn stories around now based on random assumptions. I looked around a lot the last 2 hours and the "they announced it super clear in multiple channels" is simply untrue.

If you are not a game geek, lookin after every news on devs forum, it's officialy unclear. That's my point.
The communication was not clear, as seen on the picture, the release date is announced on gog/steam and not on windows or Mac os. So the basic customer ( that I am ) don't overthink, and buy it !

I am a regular long date player, and it's the first I live this situation. It can be seen as a personal mistake , but a mistake because the conditions were very blurry.

How should Larian communicate this to non-game geeks and "regular long date players"?

Literally just they posted that Mac wouldn't be brought forward to the beginning of August at the same time they posted this image you attached as part of Community Update #20.

"This means the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released at a time where you’ll have more time to play it.

The PlayStation 5 version will be released roughly a week later than its originally scheduled date of August 31st. Baldur’s Gate 3 is targeting 60 frames-per-second and we’re close to achieving that on the platform but need a bit more extra time. We don’t want to compromise on quality, and feel it would be a shame to downscale to 30fps or make other compromises to hit an arbitrary date.

We understand that folks may be disappointed with this but we're close enough to reaching new heights for RPGs on the system that the benefits of a short delay outweigh the downsides of rushing the PS5 release and having to downscale. The full Mac version will also be released at a later date, and we’ll update you as soon as we have a target."

I got it through an email, I'm old fashioned like that, but they were all over social media as well, they publish the news on their website as well as posting on on the Baldur's Gate 3 page on Steam. They've posted this evening in Community Update #25 that they are targeting 6th September for Mac, so like the PS5, a week's delay from the announced release window in December 2022. Certainly no browsing obscure forums required!

I'm a gog only user, and I'm charging more gog than Larian here. The game was announced on Mac and Windows till month on the plateform. Never read nothing about this delay on gog page, nor on game description. I not following games social medias or community charts or whatever, like lambda customers.

I just saying adding a little " available august 3rd FOR WINDOWS on gog and steam" , making costumers understand it's not yet on Macos, would have been well received.

For whoever would have taken the train on the way.

Where? On the page that was designed to sell EA, or some different place?
If you buy the game on Gog, you can also install it on Mac. It's not the same build, and I don't know if it's still in early access, but it installs and works
