Ixandra: I updated the game through GOG Galaxy and now it freezes after launch when the loading screen reaches 100 %. I've tried verifying and repairing the game, but that does nothing to fix the problem.
Try running it straight from the EXE file, bypassing any launchers. That worked for me.
New patch just bricked my game. I need a fix or just im going to refund. Edit: Running the exe direct works, but it still crashes on "bg3_dx11.exe"

Adding my voice to issue. I've been waiting for Hotfix 4 as I'm having other issues with the game. I saw the redeployed message and patiently waited for GOG to get the patch posted. Finally arrived, I ASSUMED it was the fixed version already released by Larian days ago.

GOG - how can you not only be behind, but you could've avoided Larian's mistake entirely.

So the original hotfix 4 patch that was rolled back was version 4.1.1.3645567

The new hotfix 4 patch is version 4.1.1.3648072 and GOG put up the offline installer for this on friday:

patch_baldurs_gate_3_Release_-_v4.1.1.3636828_-_Patch_Patch0_Hotfix3_(66686)_to_Live_-_v4.1.1.3648072_-_Patch_ Patch0_Hotfix4_Launcher_fix_(66847).exe
Nope, not for me.

I still only get Release - v4.1.1.3645567 - Patch Patch0_Hotfix4 Loca fix

There is no mention of a 4.1.1.3648072 anywhere in my download for BG3.

Not for me either. I only see version 4.1.1.3645567 available as offline installer.
I don't know what's up on Galaxy.

That's exactly my situation. The current offline install files (attached screenshot) include a full install to the broken 3645567 or patches leading to that. There's no way to do a fresh install to 3648072 or even install a previous patch. Hopefully GOG adds a "3645567 to 3648072 patch" file today as I really want to play!

There won't be a patch to 3645572 from 36465567. They are both hotfix 4, but ...72 supercedes ...67. The ...67 one was bad, and was taken down almost immediately, then replaced, but for some reason the ...67 file is the one GOG gave access to.So on top of now waiting for a refund, I can't even play the game (awaiting a refund to repurchase elsewhere).

You may want to re-read the prior comment. AFAIK there's never been any officially released version ending in 3645572.

Larian and GOG both messed up here. Mistakes happen, but Larian should have made a CLEAR distinction between the original broken Hotfix 4 and the corrected Hotfix 4 (call it Hotfix 5, 4.1, or ANYTHING unique to clearly distinguish it). GOG then didn't look at the detailed patch numbers and provided the wrong Hotfix 4. That being said, although I'm disappointed, not being able to play for one weekend isn't the end of the world. I still greatly value owning a game over paying full price for long term rentals, especially when those rentals are now in the habit of automatically removing "objectionable" content retroactively ala Skullgirls.

the steam version is on it right now, a bunch of QoL mods (WASD movement and Camera tweaks) require it now and the GoG version is not up to date.

If Steam just came up with it, then you have to wait 1 or 2 hours for Larian to get it up on GOG. They do Steam first for some reason. Take it up with Larian if you want them to change that.
I got the correct patch a couple of days ago on Gog, through Galaxy (I'm in the US.) Game is running great--no crashes, no problems, and all previous and current-patch saves work perfectly. Version 4.1.1.3648072

I missed the first withdrawn Larian Patch, fortunately.

One last comment: if you aren't using Galaxy, you are way behind the curve. It takes Gog a couple of days, at the earliest, before the patches are available in the manual install downloads. I see no advantage to not using Galaxy--I use Galaxy to install and update all of my Gog games, and I use the manual install files after a games' FINAL Patch to serve as my legal copy of the game in my library. Using the manual files to upgrade game patches makes no sense at all because it takes a lot longer to get the updated patch, and sometimes Gog makes it so that the entire game has to be redownloaded to get the benefit of the latest patch!

I cannot comprehend why people are avoiding Galaxy--after the game is installed you can still run it direct from its exe without running Galaxy at all--just like you do with the manual install files. All of my Games bypass Galaxy when I run them, and I download and install all of them through Galaxy.

I updated hoping to play multiplayer with people on steam. That didn't work as the versions are still mismatched and I'm reading I have a broken build now. I'm not sure the 3645567 build is actually broken, it seems fine so far. The patches have been like that for about two days now. I'm hoping there hasn't been some confusion that's lead people to believe that the 3645567 build is fine. It's not if only because it's not multiplayer compatible with the other releases.

Some of us that use Wine for Linux/Unix gaming can't use Galaxy. So now you can hopefully comprehend why Galaxy is avoided and stop beating that dead horse. Manual/offline installers is the reason some use GoG in the first place instead of Steam, otherwise Galaxy and Steam are basically the same thing with one having inferior support and priority with developers. Having a manual installer IS essentially what makes something DRM-free, otherwise a user is tied to the app in the same exact way and are just in abstraction territory.
