Elves, day 1

Well, there goes our boat. My counsellor has suspiciously specific and informed advice on this land, I wonder whether the shipwreck was really an accident, oh well. I listen to the conniving critter for now. I need to leave this putrid swamp and find my beloved trees!

Southern: argh, you've mixed up the time zones [-(

James - no problem at all, I haven't done much yet :D

Do you have the gog version? Gog''s dosbox has a wrapper, long story short check out this folder:
C:\Users\....\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com

In that case delete any files you've put on the installation directory and just refer to this one.
Archons, Day 1

Today, we started our conquest of the kitty kats. Well, conquest is a little excessive a term. Today we, um, got really close to them so we could listen to them purr and maybe tomorrow we'll pet them.

TS

ooc: Haven't played a non-small map in PBEM in a long time. This is sort of refreshing. An opportunity to build an actual, semi-functioning empire with infrastructure perhaps. We shall see.
Undead, Day 2

Well, were still not very undead, but at least now we have a village for our base. We also claimed a pile of resources guarded by yet more humans. All in all, things are proceeding very nicely.

TS, hopefully without any problems this time.
Elves, day 2

These annoying lizards are rebellious, but I can't afford to leave a single unit behind. I'll have to risk that they rebel in the village. The only unit I could leave behind is a turtle, an animal with a catapult on its back... Which is menacing rebellion too. It can't even speak, what does it want more than feed?

Bah, we trod on in this muddy swamp hoping to find our beloved oaks...

what the heck - how long does 'you invaded our lands' last? Should have avoided the village, it's just a lost turn. I can't even convert the population without any elven city. All the facepalms. I guess everyone's got the same issue - but why would the mapmaker force us to roll dice for rebellion at the start?

My guess is that the modifier goes away when you kill the hero of that race.

Ring the hero has is called "Royal Seal". That's sort of a tip off. :)

Archons, Day 2

We did not test our theories of battle today. Decided to wait another day to allow a bit more R&R. Not our normal modus operandi, but given the size of this world, there will be plenty of opportunity later for reckless choices and dances with the RNG gods.

TS
Humans, Day 3

Well, there's simply no point in pretending were undead, so I shall be Skeletor, King of the Humans. Its not so bad I suppose, after all, a human is just a skeleton with some meat attached. Yeah, that's how i'll think about it. Scouts are further dispatched to scout out these new lands that shall soon be my empire.

TS
Elves day 3

Luckily no draconian has rebelled this turn. We hsten to kill their leader and we gain their loyalty, although at some cost.
Archons, Day 3

Low health, low money, low mana. Not exactly an ideal place to be...

TS
Dark Elves, Day 3

Somehow, the frostling leader fell without any of our troops dying. On hte other hand, everything is injured, so I might have to very slowly the next few days.
Humans, Day 4

Although I myself, as undead, require no healing, my mortal followers have lost alot of that red stuff they keep in their bodies. Luckily, scouts have returned with fantastic news. Not only did they locate a house of healing nearby, but they have found an undead village to add to our growing kingdom. Ahh, it will be so good to be back amongst m' peeps!

TS
Archons, Day 4

We decided to walk really slowly and not do much. Already regretting some decisions made, but not enough to care that much.

Honestly, we walk this slow because we are old, we are fat, and can't really piddle along any faster. It's great to be an Archon Lord. I'm waited upon hand and foot which unfortunately means lots of food, lots of drink, and wink, wink, quite a bit of debauchery. None of which is very good for cardio beyond a brief moment or two.

TS
Frostlings, Day 4

No wait, Dark Elves. But we're training a Mammoth!
Humundeads, Day 5

I guess I should be happy that my siege engines survived those initial battles and can help out in upcoming battles. I will try to remind myself that as they... slowly... trundle.. their... way... through... the forest... trails. Estimates are that we shall reach our next target in only two days.

TS
Elves, day 4 and 5

We capture some mines then our scouts spot a city of fellow elves! They won't join us even for money so we enthusiastically move our army in that direction already savouring the shadows of the oaks. Unfortunately as we draw near some concealed units show themselves: pixies! Oh, noes. Better wait the rest of the troops and think it twice....

In the meanwhile a frostling hero offers his services?! Why would a frostling hero give us help??
