Undead Day 22

All quiet on the western front, but I can feel (and see) the units closing in. Its the last deep breath before the plunge. I scramble troops into garrison the orc village.

TS

Ah, so the MPE mod didn't fix the boat bug. That thing has derailed many a game, must be hardwired into the very code of the game.
The boat bug even goes back to AoW1, IIRC.
Galadriel, day 22

I have no idea both how the undead keep pumping out that many units and why they'd think a bunch of halflings could assault them. It's all pretty strange. Maybe they've found a stash of the halfling good stuff? Does that even work on undead?

My birds have learned the lesson and move veeeery cautiously, there, behind the city some hidden panthers... Fly away birdies!

It does indeed.
Undead Day 23

Well, there's no hiding it now. All the cards are on the table, my plans laid bare. But if the halfling hiding in the bushes is any indication, perhaps the elves saw this coming? In any case, not sure how far I'll make it this time, I still think with the amount of territory and number of seducers/dominators in the elves control, its only a matter of time before they crush us. Probably they're just busy forcibly recruiting a huge, powerful army to steamroll over any resistance we can mount. All my hopes rest with Warchief Snagga. If I have prepared him sufficiently, then perhaps he can turn the tide. If not, then at least maybe he can write a new chapter in the story of the little folk:

The Scouring of the Shire!

TS
Galadriel, day 24
As Lord Skeletor's forces dig on we can't do much to stop them, his vampires have found much luckier targets than my nymphes - and I even considered my results "disgustingly good" before, as I mentioned some time back...

At least my halfling posse jumps out of the woods to avenge our future fate against these vampires. It won't change the results but some small satisfaction never hurts.

Why won't any hero join me, Lady Galadriel the magnificent!?
Archons

Day something, we do nothing per usual. Tales of Nymphs and Vampires make me jealous. I have some slow ass Dwarves. Woo hoo.

TS
Undead Day 24,

Losing those three elite vampires is painful to be sure. I could have sworn I positioned those two stacks side by side. I really have to stop letting the elves eat me up piecemeal. On the other hand, my own attacks achieved a very respectable kill ratio! We pulled off one of my favourite maneuvers, the trap door spider attack. Pop out, kill, then pop back in. Warchief Snagga and his elite force proved their worth, killing 6 units for each of their own losses. Do the elves dare venture into the caves to pursue? Muhwahahaha!

These gains may not last, but at least I've fulfilled my vow to bathe in halfling blood. I count over 30 of the little folk dead, and with any luck more of their cities shall soon be burning too. Unfortunately I may have also helped the elves' budget problems, enabling them to invest in infrastructure and send better units against me. Ah well, c'est la vie, ou peut etre, c'est la mort?

TS
Lady Galadriel, day 24

Ops, the orc has forestry. How quaint. It must be nice to have experience. I am a pacifist, so I don't. That's a bit of a high mortality rate for my halflings, but I strongly believe that there isn't a problem that you cannot fix by throwing enough halflings at it! Procreate you rabbits! In the meanwhile better leave some space to the warlord - if he wants to fight it will be at our conditions.

Have I said that pacifist sucks?? :) Mimo one or two turns ago I think you killed a bird with a dwarf berserker, mind sharing how? There weren't targets close to keep the bird attacking...

Archons, Day 24

Still doing nothing at all.

TS

ooc: Flying unit attack the ground bound unit for one turn before the battle is declared over. Stupid rule. So your bird attacked me 3 times and I retaliated 3 times (x2 for double strike). No special moves or chicanery.
Undead Day 25,

Wow, those djinns are seriously going to mess things up for me. I don't think my slow land based armies will even have time to do much damage before half our kingdom lies in ruins from that stack. Oh well. Yeah, I'm the opposite of Pacifist, Conqueror. Its a great skill for building uber heroes, which Snagga is close to, if not already there. I've managed to crank his Def up pretty high, even without Stone Skin, WHICH I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL GAME TO APPEAR IN MY RESEARCH BOOK!!! Ahem, well, lets just say I've become a master of low level spells.

TS
Lady Galadriel, day 25

The orc hero stays in his hole, while I kill some orcs but of neutral alignment. Still no hero despite my maginficence...

I spot (a turn or two ago actually) a rich place giving 50 gold per day to the Cardinal, so he did stuff after all - why is he never rejoicing? Is this chronic pessimism or trickstery? Will I get digged under by dwarves as well as goblins? Better keep some watch down there. It looks like his cities are converting to dwarves... Dangerous times!
Archons, Day something

We spot an eagle hiding on an obstacle yet again to avoid our dwarves in the mountains. This time we solve the problem without resorting to rulebooks of the gods.

We still have no plan or way to implement a plan. So be it.

TS
Undead Day 26,

Boy, you know a war is bitter when cities get razed without even waiting to loot them. But why would the elves need the extra gold with the vast territory under their control? We on the other hand miss every copper. I pray to the foul gods of death that my defenses can hold off the djinns, or at least whittle them down somewhat. If only I had some fliers/floaters to go after them, but I'm strictly land based units. So I stare out into the river, with too few soldiers to defend the many targets within the djinn's reach. Any my invasion force in the halfling lands is... so... frickin'... slow!

TS
Galadriel day 26

Uh, how many defence troops has Skeletor back home?? I can't even use my infiltrators. While I wait for my demise I plant some new trees at least!
