Didn't play yet - just watched letsplays. But got inspired by those. Sad it's not on GOG yet. It's pretty minimalistic, yet open-worlded. It's like the Sims but with Vikings and without industrialisation (ergo, better). It's also funny how you can dance with a torch!
You're a dead warrior stuck in a "purgatory" known as Valheim - you are to prove that you are deserving and honourable to pass on to Valhalla.
This should have been on GOG years ago. It even got on the Mac App Store last year! (another Apple game for GOG if we get it!) It's first and foremost an - ORIGINAL - survival game, with a heavy flourishing theme of Scandinavian folklore. It is not hardcore, you don't have hunger and such so it's not annoying, but instead it has many mechanics like buffs from feeding yourself, getting shelter, etc... that could help you gain the upperhand in such an oppressive world filled with monsters. Flavorful monsters straight out from folklore, from dwarf-looking graylings to hulking, slow, but one-hitter 20-foot trolls.
